I had to remove the steering wheel I remove it from the shaft and pulled the whole thing out when I reconnected it the air bag light stays on. The horn works and it is a d column so it only fits on one way so I think it is aligned right. The wheel it self has been spun around but I assume the clock would turn with it when it was off the shaft is there a way to tell with out removing the steering wheel? or any tips would be appreciated thank you

If the wheel has been turned the clockspring needs to be centered before it goes back in or it'll rip it$elf up. Blue marker in the window with front wheels straight ahead and steering wheel straight. If you can't see the blue mark or window it can be centered by gently winding it to a stop, then gently winding it the other way until it stops counting the turns. Divide the number of turns in half and wind it back and it should be centered.

Maybe forgot the airbag connector? Usually yellow.

You have probably damaged the clock spring by now!

New ones come with a white plastic shipping piece holding the spring in the correct position....once you have fitted the new part in place you pull out the plastic shipping piece.

Acquire a scanner that can pull Factory Chrysler codes i.e (air bag / abs).

I am dealing with a air bag light issue which was intermittent when we purchased the 02 a year ago, however after the rad and heater core were replaced the issue became constant.

Replaced front impact sensors because they were cracked "no fix" replaced new clock spring "no fix" and that was expensive.

Finally purchased a scanner that could pull factory Chrysler codes and the issue is with the driver side "Output driver cir". the chip that sends the output across the cir. Perhaps I would have $300.00 more dollars in me pocket if I would purchased the scanner first...or paid dealer $100.00 = 13% to scan it.

I have a recall appointment scheduled soon and they will replace the air bag computer.

search for my post and look for "In deep with airbag light" which may or may not help.
