02 Liberty 3.7 4x4

Just picked it up for 2200 last week and it seems that the drive shaft from the 4 x 4 is missing... just an open hole. I swear the thing engaged tho and I was driving in 4x4 low.

Any thoughts... Can someone post a pic of the under body of a 4x4 liberty..

This is my first 4x4 btw...lol:shrug:

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
If you engage 4low you will be in low range even if the front driveshaft is removed, just not driving the front end.

Look under the front of the KJ,locate the front diff and look for a shaft that connects the front diff to the t-case.

Yup drive shaft is gone.

Mechanic said that something else is probly wrong and thats why it was removed...

If thats the case would the front driveshaft need be removed?

My bet is the rear boot wore out, CV started making noises so they thought they had to replace the whole thing and threw it away!
Not the first time its happened :icon_lol:

dscott90000, I saw by the notification email for this thread what the problem is. Host the picture at Photobucket or something like that and then use the link from there. :)
