2012 Liberty Radio Replacement

I want to replace my radio with one that has an SD card reader. Does anyone know if the radio is necessary for any of the other vehicle functions such as temperature display, mileage etc. Thanks.

No Chrysler radio in a KJ, KK or even JK has anything to do with gas mileage readouts, temperature displays, vehicle programming, vehicle chimes or any of the sort. GM is known for this.

U-Connect.... yes, but that's pushing it. Most don't have that.
