Hi everyone,
I was hoping to get a bit of advice about the serpentine belt. I just changed my alternator and the belt have too much play as I can turn it past 1/2 inch. The car turns over by the serpentine belt squeaks.

Is it the correct belt? Have you got it fitted correctly? There's a diagram on the panel above the radiator. If all that's OK then it's probably the tensioner spring.

I’m not sure if the belt is the right fit. I’ve had the Jeep for3 years with the old alternator in there with no belt nose. I just replaced the new alternator and then there squeaking and slight smell of rub started. I will try to replace the tensioner spring. Thank you for the advice.
