2005 liberty. I am noticing the liberty is much more noisy going down
the road, sounds like rythmic tire noise. I notice it at all speeds.
The tires are recent and in great shape. Does anyone have any thoughts as far as what might be causing this noise?

The 79k mile replacement engine failed a few weeks ago. Fortunately
we bought a warranty for parts and labor. We picked it up from the
shop a few days ago with another replacement engine. I love the liberty
but all the repairs are becoming a bummer.

Thanks in advance!

If it comes from underneath (or "nowhere") and stays the same when turning left and right it's the U-joint. If it changes when turning the wheel and comes from front it's the front bearings.

Hi Tom,Tin man. I wish i could describe it better. The noise comes from underneath. Sounds like road noise or tire noise but the noise only started a day or so ago. Before that
the liberty was very quiet and smooth driving down the road. I'll take it to my shop and have them check it over including the U joints. Thanks for your advice.

Possibly the rear end - pinion bearings. The sound travels. Have dealt with that on two KJs now.

I ran mine on jackstands with the driveshaft removed as a test.
