Thanks, it should be published now.
My coolant is brand new and i haven't lost any. Could it be to do with the AC condensation?

Tough to tell as the coolant reservoir is right there too but I'd bet on the back corner of the head cover gasket. That often leaks and drops on the exhaust pipes near the Cat. Makes a lot of smoke if enough is falling. Like LTC said, the smell test would be helpful. I could see mine drip on near the cat when I pulled it up on ramps and watched while idling.

Just a weep right now, going to get a :untitled: and tighten cover a bit.
But...If it starts to (blarg) oil I am just going to find a chrome cover, (bling) just so I can feel like a performance ricer! :signs6: :idiot: :gathering:

Looks like a very bad valve cover gasket. Hoping not an HG! I'd check as many of the 10mm cover bolts that you can reach. Might want to remove the coolant reservoir nuts that hold it to the studs in the firewall and try to check cover bolts near the firewall. If it's leaking that bad either the gasket completely failed or a couple are not even finger tight. Should only be about 105 inch pounds for the torque. Gaskets are not expensive and the labor isn't bad for even a novice. Just have a few things to remove to actually pull the cover.

Tim,
What part of the engine bay is this picture of?
I've been looking around mine but can't tell whether it's leaking from the valve cover.

Thanks.

The leak is at the passenger-side valve cover rear...it is very close to the firewall...

You can buy the gasket for about $25-30 bucks and change it yourself...you just have to remove the airbox and intake hose from the throttle body, drain off some coolant, remove the heater hoses from the firewall, remove the PCV plumbing, and optionally, (it really helps!) the oil filler 'funnel' from the front of the passenger-side cylinder head...then you can access the cover bolts and remove the cover to replace the gasket...paying somebody $400 bucks to do that is just silly unless you are afraid of tools...good luck!

My weep is coming from above the photo area ( front passenger side by firewall corner) shows the area where its slowly accumulating.
I would have to get a mirror placed behind the cover, closer to the firewall, to get an actual photo of the weep at backside valve cover.
I stuck my finger back there, yup there is a slight weep of oil!
Sometime next week after the rain storms pass, I will tighten the cover & take it from there. Will monitor it.
Unless its really bad, I don't even want to think about it, until spring or summer ..LOL..

Best way to tell is drive it and get it to operating temp or let it sit over night and hop under the jeep and shine a light under the valve cover gaskets. That's how I found my leak when I had a brand new engine put in. Gaskets were defective and leaking straight onto the manifold

If it's the valve cover leak, you will get intermittent blasts of the smell of burning oil as the fresh air vent intake is located close to the source of the smell...you think if it's only once in a while no big deal...in my case, it got worse and worse until the white smoke puffs got pulled into the cabin and caused my wife to bring the KJ right back after taking off one evening to make sure something bad hadn't happened...clever girl!

I ordered the valve cover gaskets from avondalewholesaleparts.com the next day...

After running the Jeep last night, I let it sit overnight.
I grabbed a paper towel and did a quick wrap around the back corner of the passenger side valve cover.

Yup new gaskets. Don't tighten those too much. Don't want to break the studs off bud.
