What I would do is take the rest out, and replace with mesh. JMO.

Yeah funny you mentioned that because I was debating doing that. Is it a somewhat easy job? And thanks for the quick reply.

I believe there is a walk through on the process in the how-to section. I'll try to locate it and post the link. Seems like it shouldn't take too long. Roughly 30 minutes, I'd guess.

EDIT: Found it. Click! The poster states that it takes about an hour for the install time.

hahah I'm not messing around! I don't know how it happened to be honest. I was driving down the road and i guess there was an apple in the middle of it, a car in front of me must have hit it and kicked it up and it went straight through the "tooth"(according to kb0nly) ha, and got stuck in the fan directly behind....I didn't notice for days until i turned on my KJ and I smelt a funny odor and couldn't figure it out . Finally popped open the hood and there the apple was all toasted and mushy for the engine heat hahahah :)....I think that story should go down in the book of dumbest ways to screw your Jeep up!

and thanks Clyde Frog for the link, I'm just gonna rip that cheap plastic out and go mesh.

I've got one of those grill inserts in my garage. A left over from when I had my grill replaced by Chrysler Co for flaked off paint. They kept the grill but left me the insert. Any takers? Beware, shipping from Canada may be expensive seeing as it's going to go in a big box.

It cam off of my '05 Renegade. Dunno if it's different from the not Renegade grill insert.

Yeah, but cut the corresponding section out on the other side and insert some big saber-tooth cat fangs.....:D
