08 liberty rear hatch problem

anyone having problems with their rear hatch switches telling the bcm that it is continually ajar? jeep dealer says this a known problem and they have a fix but i'm just wondering if they are blowing smoke up my a%*. anyone know if there is a tsb out on this?

08 rear latch problem

I have thought that my 08 rear latch has a problem also. It closes but I hae to give it a slam to get the latch to catch.

I thought we had a problem... but in the light of day, a dowel had rolled into the latch area. Boy is that ding persistent

as an update, jeep has a tsb out for the latch. handed it to the dealer and it's fixed.

Thanks for the update. I haven't had any more trouble since getting the dowel out of the latch, on ours.
