We have just dealt with this issue forever and not wanted to tear the whole dash out but considering our options again. There is a clear vacuum leak behind the glove box area which is causing the blend doors not to operate correctly which forces all air through Defrost. This also causes the A/C to only work in one position vs. re-circulate and so on, we figured that one out by screwing around with each position.

Anyways we can hear the leak and a smoke test had smoke coming out of dash and front of firewall, any ideas where the leak might be and if by chance we can reach it without taking the dash out? I've ran my hand all up in there and can't find anything or isolate the leak noise by placing my hand over various parts. The leak likely started soon after the car was our of warranty as I bought it used with just 42k I think on it in 2019.
