Hello,

I replaced the the heater core on my 05 Liberty V6. The HVAC will switch between defrost, vent, floor, etc; but will only blow hot air when the recirc button is on. I know I have vacuum, but only get the warm air on recirc. Everything else is cold. It does have a newer water pump and thermostat. I’m wondering if the blend door is stuck open. Any ideas?

I do not know if this will help or is related to your problem but here is something that I did when I got my 2003 Libby V6 Limited 5 years ago. I had weird issues with the hot or cold air blowing when it should not. I replaced the blend door actuator and the resistor. At the time I was doing this I replaced the front panel with the controls. None of this solved the hot or cold blowing issue but they fixed other things. So, when I get hot air when it should be cold or cold air when it shouled be hot or some other combination of the two, I will turn the "hot/cold" controlled all the way to the hot extreme control position and then all the way back to the cold extreme control position and then turn the controller to the position I want it to be and then it blows the selected temp. Tidbit: I have not changed out any vacuum hoses underneath the dash at this time.

Think of it as turning all the way to right and all the way back to the left and then set the temp you want. It sort of resets the entire temp setting and then I am good to go. It might be worth a try. Ya know sometimes I get in and then position to the air temp and then want to back off the air gets really hot so I just turn all the way right, all the way left, then I select the temp I want.

Could be an issue with the Blend Door Actuator. It is located on top of the HVAC box. See picture.
