Gasser.
I tested hazard switch and all but the right front blinker worked. I replaced the bulb and cleaned the socket with emery cloth and used some dielectric grease. So far so good. Sometimes it is the simple stuff and I overthink it. Thanks for the responses.
Thanks for the reply and info. I made an assumption about the flasher, good to know they incorporate into the hazard switch circuit. I will test the hazard switch and also plan to replace the bulb and look at/clean the socket. It's a gasser, appreciate any other info you find.
I suppose the bulb in the front could be bad again, but I replaced it ~12 months ago and they generally last at least a few years. Will knock off the simple stuff in the process, but any other thoughts on other things to look at?
My daughter's 2006 Liberty has an intermittent turn signal problem for the last year or so. It started as the right rear just stopped working. Replaced bulb, cleaned socket and nothing worked. Replaced the light housing which includes the sockets and the circuit board and everything seemed to...
Thank you both for your replies. I will inspect, clean and use some silicone grease to protect when she brings her car back. Just seemed like an odd coincidence that this occurred after I replaced her light bulb. Hopefully nothing more than a coincidence.
I replaced the right (passenger) side headlight bulb in my daughters 06 Liberty and verified working fine. She called me later to say her turn signal was blinking real fast when using the right turn signal. I asked to her check to see if bulb was out and she confirmed right rear bulb out. She...
Sorry to dig up such an old post, but my daughter's 06 Liberty was exhibiting the same noise last night. About every 5-10 minutes, would get a humming noise last for about 1.5 seconds. Car was turned off and locked and sitting for at least 2 hours since last driven. Not sure if it is still...
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Will get her back on the lift a little later and have a look at the front driveshaft. I guess I could run it while up on the lift and see if I can pinpoint the source. Stay tuned...
I just finished replacing the front and rear wheel bearings (and a whole lot more) on my daughters 2006 Liberty 4x4. Took it for a test drive and still am hearing a very noticible howling noise. I thought for certain it was wheel bearings since they are original and had 140k miles on them. My...
I didn't think it was a Traction Lok, but wanted to be sure since I have read about driveability issues if you do not add friction additive with a Traction Lok rear. Thanks for the replies.
Just finishing up a laundry list:
Front wheel hubs
Front axle seals
Rear axle bearings & seals
Front upper control arms
Front lower ball joints
Front springs & shocks
Fixed rear brake backing plates - drilled, tapped and bolted
Front & rear diff fluid change
I need to inspect and possibly...
Just finishing up changing the rear axle bearings and seals and will be buttoning up the rear diff tomorrow night. I bought friction additive to add to the gear oil, but looking at it now without the cover I'm not sure it needs it. I don't see any clutch packs, but maybe they are not visible...
Thanks for the confirmation guys. I got it all back together and seems to be fine. Got the front end done, now onto the back to do axle bearings, seals and shocks.
Im doing suspension, axle seal work on 2006 Liberty and putting things back together now. Passenger front axle doesn't seem to want to go in beyond this point. Have removed and put back in multiple times now. I want to make sure it's fully seated before I continue. Thanks in advance.
