Yup! I had that same issue and was chasing it a while. I even thought what you did and I find the factory plug off a Durango -that didn't work. I'm almost positive I ended up with an '08 alternator.

I know that there is definitely supposed to be a delay from floor to screen/face vents. I think I remember (maybe) that it pushes out the air in the system to the floor first that you wouldn't in your face. :confused:
