Hi. I have a problem which I want some help with. I have a 2003 Liberty Sport and lately I noticedthat whenever I lock the steering wheel I have trouble in unloacking it. The key does not turn even if I try to move the steering wheel. This happened a while back but yesterday it happened more...

I recently started getting this grinding sound when I back up on my 2003 KJ Sport. i took it into the workshop to get looked at and the guy told me that the rotors and brake pads were shot and would have to be replaced. I was underthe impression that the rotors can be tooled down at least the...
stock....
My Liberty is not an Unlimited...its aSport and I think the Sport comes with 215/75/R16's. What is Jeep thinking when they do stupid stuff like that?
Thanks
Thanks for the response Brigrat. I thought that 265's would be too big. I think Jeep should redesign the Liberty Wheel wells so that the vehicle can accomodate larger wheels. I guess this vehicle was meant for the "soccer mom" and not guys. I got it cause of my wife. If I had my way, I'd...
I am planning to put BF Goodrich Tires 235/70/R16 on my stock 2003 Jeep Liberty but I have been told that they might rub in the wheel well plus that those tires are very heavy for the Liberty. I need some guidance in this respect and an insight on what is the best option. What is the largest...
I was wondering if anyone knew the volume of fuel or miles travelled on a stock 2003 Liberty Sport once the fuel light comes on. I could not find anything on this in the User's Manual.

Steel vs Alloy
That's the opinion I had about the steel vs alloy rims; that weight is the main difference between the two and not necessarily the strength. I don't plan on doing any serious off-roading, just minor stuff so I think alloys should do fine.
35psi?
Did you say you're running your KJ on Nitrogen at 35psi? Why nitrogen? I definately have to look into figuring out how to improve my fuel consumption. I envy folks who claim that their KJ gives better mileage than a CRV.

Tire pressure
I was just going to look into that.I think my tires are running at 28psi or 29psi. Bringing the tire pressure up to 33psi might help some.
Which type of rims are better for light off-road and highway travel; alloys or steel (chrome/painted) rims? I am planning on going with 245/75/R16 or 245/70/R16 tires for my stock KJ. No lift installation planned.
Please advise.

Hi! I just bought a 2003 KJ Sport (3.7 L) and would like to find out from other folks out there what the ideal fuel consumption should be. My daily compute is approx. 35-40 miles. I have a stock KJ but my fuel efficiency is 13 miles per gallon. Second fill up it was 15 miles per gallon. I have...
I am planning to swap my 2003 Jeep Liberty's stock steel rims with new rims and tires which shall be slightly taller and wider. I was wondering which rims are better for off-roading; steel or alloys? I am interested in alloys since they are lighter in weight and will help in fuel efficiency. Is...
I have just bought a 2003 Jeep Liberty Sport and had a question. When I shift the transfer case from 2H to 4H, thee instrument panel "4WD Part Time" lights up. What does this mean? Does this mean that the 4WD is engaged part time? In case of my CJ5 engaging it in 4H mean the front drive shaft is...
