Nice one.
I have owned our CRD Ltd for 850 miles and about one month and am loving it. I hope you have many happy miles in her and I look forward to piccies at some point.
there would be no loading from the engine so there would be less noise, it does sound as though there is a problem possibly caused by driving on tarmac with the centre diff lock engaged for that distance, It happened on a mates import CJ many years ago, that was what was diagnosed, but hey? Lets...
It sounds to me like the transfer case failed to release the centre diff and it was all locked up. they advise in the handbook to do a neutral shift and if you get a bit of lock up to stop and reverse a couple of feet to take the strain out.
In the UK the headlamp bulbs are H4 type, so I throguh ebay found a great little supplier in Canada and ordered a pair of Eurodezigns Xenon type replacement units, fitted them last night.
I also fittted a pair of LED running light bulbs as these are contained within the main headlamp unit too...

Thanks for that guys, I kind of see what you mean though it does mean the gear selector is closer to us, yip the bonnet release is on the same side and the interior mirror on the Ltd does not self dip.
I am now on the prowl for the T/case shifter from Startech too but no-one makes a parking...
I'll try to explain what is fitted to UK Jeeps. the "side marker" that is within the amber turn signal of US Jeeps is not fitted to UK Jeeps, the small amber reflector / running light just in front of the front wheel low down on the fender is also non-illuminated. All we get are turn signal...
Thanks for that it did indeed pop out and the console didnt have to come out completely to replace the shifter. Wiring in the O/D button was a pain but I got there and love the result.
It has no separate shiftlock button like the old you press the whole lever down to release from Park etc...

Anyone know how to remove the trim panel around the Auto shifter on the 05 Libby? I just got myself a Startech shifter and the fitting instructions start with "refer to DC middle console removal method" Like D'uh,,,,,, ](*,)
