Lensman, or anyone.
My Mische bracket came in the mail today! Quick question. Can this just be done with a long / large enough socket wrench? Or to tighten the bolts should I buy / rent a torque wrench?
Hi!
Up front, I'm 6'9" and all legs.
I've had this '05 Liberty coming up on a year, and driving it has been a literal pain. I've developed a wicked case of IT Band Syndrome, per my physical therapist, by having my leg at a > angle (where my knee is where the point is), instead of, you know...
I'm going to check all this after I get off of work tonight. However, would it cause that weird groaning noise? Again, this happens when I'm not moving. Could this divot had hurt my transmission?
Alright. Automatic transmission.
So last week I was driving through some construction and hit a MASSIVE divot in the road. It literally sounded like my right tire popped, it was so loud.
Ever since, turning right has felt tight / harder. And I have a squeaky noise every time I hit a bump. But...
Also. Does a seat extender rise the seat any? That's bad for me. I'm SUPER tall, and have a hard time seeing street lights when I'm close to them waiting to turn green. Have to lean over.
Thanks. I think this is a great idea.
Also, in that thread, one of the owners mentioned tearing out the carpet and removing some foam. I'm assuming that area right below the console that restricts some of the space in the footwell isn't foam, so I can't tear that out. Can I?
Maybe it's my height then, and the way my knee is angled to get there. Hmmmm.
But that's a good idea though. I'm coming from driving a manual transmission anyways. So it would feel familiar.
05 Jeep Liberty. New to me.
It feels like ever since I got this Jeep it's been one thing after another lol.
I had to brake hard the other day. And my Jeep kept going, despite me pressing the brake pedal to the floor. So I hard to swerve to avoid the car that stopped for a cat.
When trying to...
It's stopped doing that when braking. Literally, it happened three times the moment I took it off the lot, then just stopped completely.
However, it still does it randomly when reversing, going into driver, then hitting the gas.
Okay. Took it to the mechanic, as I didn’t have time to fix this on my own. Going on a trip this weekend. They agreed with all your assessments, though they didn’t feel the weird clunk. They did pretty much everything you all talked about, test drove it, said everything felt fine to them.
The...
How much tighter would those control arms need to get? With my limited tools / time, I checked all the bolts I could and could barely budge any of them tighter.
So. I got the clicking / twig snapping noise taken car of. (inner control arm).
Now, when O reverse from park and put it into drive, then press the gas no matter how softly, it feels like the jeep kind hitches / shudders. And sometimes I can feel, rather than hear, the clunk. I can repeat this...
Okay. I did what you said.
At first, I drove round and round and heard NO clicking noises at all. However, I did notice that if I turned the wheel until it stops, it hearing a groaning. Normal? Anyways, frustrated, I pulled out of the parking lot I was in and decided to take a drive around the...
I did a search on here, and it looks like it could be related to the CV joint? My previous posts, if you read them, will tell you this Jeep has been sitting in my buddy's driveway for the last year, not being moved or worked on. Just sat there. So I'm getting it back up and running, as he gave...
05 Jeep Liberty.
The driver side door is hanging very slightly low, but low enough that when I close the door you can metal on metal pop before it latches. I did a very brief visual check of the bolts / hinges, and it doesn't look like anything is tearing off the metal. Is this a quick fix on...
Since I've been driving my 05 a lot more than usual, now that I have it up and running from it sitting for a year at a friends house, I've notice my knee is hurting driving. I realized I could use at least another inch, or three, to "fit" better in the Jeep.
I found this...
