Rear Control Arms - replace upper, lower, or both?

Well - replaced the upper and lower last weekend, and all is well! Hit a trail and had some pretty serious clunking in the rear end, which I believe I traced to the sway bar; meaning, the bolts were not torqued all the way, and it may have been slipping (since the holes in the bar are smaller...

Running a little hot at idle...

Well I don’t exactly know what the specific problem was - water pump, thermostat, coolant, air in the system ... but it’s all been dealt with and now running great. New pump, new thermostat, proper coolant, and a good air purge after everything, and I’m sitting a just a hair below center on the...

Running a little hot at idle...

I’ve only got the electric fan ... no mechanical. Can’t be sure if the radiator is Mopar, but I’d assume not. 175,000 miles on the truck. I’m going to start with a flush & fill and go from there. Water pump looks like a simple job, and something I’ll do in the near future if not immediately.

Running a little hot at idle...

Well the fan is working. I’m not sure about dual speed, but I ran the engine and the fan is definitely functioning. I opened the coolant reservoir and it looks a little muddy in there. I think a flush and fill with known proper coolant is next ...

Rear Control Arms - replace upper, lower, or both?

I figure if I’m going to dig in and replace the lowers, I might as well replace the upper as well. Jack stands will be out, wheels will be off, no reason not to make a day of it. By “better” ones, you mean ... ? OEM? I mean, the price just seems outrageous ... $400 just for the upper is...

I’ll be checking the fan operation in the next day or two.

I hate to admit that I haven't checked the fan. Sheesh. Yeah, that'll be job one. Thanks!

Running a little hot at idle...

My second post here - new member and new Liberty owner. 2002 Sport with the V6. Vehicle runs dead-center on the temp gauge while driving, but slowly starts to creep up when stopped and idling. Hasn't even come close to overheating, but I'd still like to see it stay cooler.... Previous owner...

Rear Control Arms - replace upper, lower, or both?

Hello! New member and Liberty owner here. I picked up a 2002 KJ Sport as a "fun" vehicle; not my daily driver. Just to be able to hit some desert spots where a normal car won't go, mild off-roading, etc. I've been reading a lot since I noticed the Liberty's rear will "sway" when on/off...
