    Yep I saw em, just wasn't sure about it being plastic lol. Definitely a design more suited for a canoe. I took 3" black pipe insulation that I had lying around and set a piece on top of each cross section.

    Took the Jeep camping Labor Day weekend. Was leery about the 14-year-old (stock) plastic renegade rack being able to hold a kayak, but it held up fine, 8 hour round trip, up to 75 mph (bye bye gas mileage :happy175:). So for any Rene owners out there wondering like I was, it can be done...

    Current setup (done by previous owner): 2.5" lift - not sure the brand but it looks like a Daystar spacer lift, with Bilstein rear shocks 245/70R16 BFG KO2's on Pro Comp 98 rims (wish they were 75 series, will replace when worn out) Everything else is stock Renegade package...wait got an AGM...

    Know what you mean. I usually try to fix whatever I can, before getting rid of it. Unfortunately greed drives the auto industry :gr_grin: I think Walmart will switch out used tries for 10 each, but I haven't done that in a while, so not 100% sure

    The TPMS sensors have to be completely sealed, so that moisture can not damage the sensor, thus making them not serviceable in terms of battery replacement.
