    Alternator noise

It's the water pump. About 1/8" of wiggle, and fluid is leaking out. I changed the oil last week and already the filter is covered with dried up coolant/gunk.

    Alternator noise

My '04 Liberty started making a noise after sitting for about a week. Prior to that I never noticed this noise. I suspect it's coming from the alternator, but I'm biased because I *want*it to be the alternator. Seems like the easiest component to replace. I did the screwdriver trick and the...

    Required Fluid Types

For differential fluid, if we don't have limited slip, can we use gear oil that comes with additive already in it? I can't find any 75W-140 locally that doesn't have friction modifier, and my diff doesn't have limited slip.

    Trouble removing fuel injectors

Same. The other day when I was putting everything back together it seemed to go smoothly, but one of the injectors was leaking everywhere. I decided to do it properly the second time, replacing bottom and top o-rings and inspecting the injectors. Wetting the o-rings made them easy to insert into...

    Trouble removing fuel injectors

I used a wrench which sort of fits around the outside of them and was able to pry most of them up. I have one left that won't come out. Edit/Update: I got the last one out by gripping the base of it with vice-grips and using a screwdriver to pry up on the vice-grips. Luckily I didn't damage...

    Trouble removing fuel injectors

Hello. I did a search but didn't find anybody with a similar problem. I recently replaced both head gaskets (big job for me, took a long time!). Everything seems to be working ok, but one of the fuel injectors is leaking fuel where it plugs into the rail. I was able to remove the rail to do...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I've been considering replacing this, since it's pretty easy! My fan doesn't blow when set to "1", unless the air source is coming from outside and I'm driving around 35+mph, in which case some air comes through just from ram air. Am I correct that the resistor for setting 1 is blown? All...

    Another "poor customer service" post.

I ordered some parts for a head gasket job that I'm working on. The parts are available at NAPA for a similar price, but I had a few days so I ordered from RockAuto to save me the trip to the store. I also paid for 2 day shipping, so I wouldn't have to mess around with waiting for too...

[Help] Trying to remove the dashboard, stuck at the steering column

Gotcha. I'll need a tool for that, right? Now I'm just stuck on the actual dash not budging. Hunting for random bolts I might have missed.

[Help] Trying to remove the dashboard, stuck at the steering column

How do you get the dash past the steering wheel? The hole isn't big enough.

[Help] Trying to remove the dashboard, stuck at the steering column

2004 KJ. I have most things removed/disconnected already, but it seems to me that in order to completely remove the dashboard (I'm replacing the heater core), I'll need to remove the steering column. Is there an easier way to remove the dash without removing the steering column? I have the...

    Stumped by new heater core

I'll plan on changing that out, but I was more curious about other little things. I know some cars have problems with blender doors, but I don't know if the Liberty does.

    Stumped by new heater core

I'm getting ready to replace my heater core. Anything else I should think about replacing while in there? Flapper doors, etc.?

    heater core

They aren't working on a Liberty in that video but it's similar. It's done by Cooper Lake Automotive in Smyrna, GA. They screwed things up while working on my liberty multiple times. Once as I left the shop coolant flowed into the oil causing yellow stuff to blow out into the air box, stalling...
