The compressor should turn on and off but the pulley should turn constantly. If it's not then either your tensioner is bad, your belt is bad or the pulley bearing is bad.
My manual refers to it as a driveplate, but I've always thought of them as a flexplate. The 07 doesn't have the bearing in the crank? Wish I'd known that before I swapped an 04 into my 03.
I'm replacing the 3.7 l engine in my '03 Liberty with an '04. I know I have to change the tone ring,reluctor ring ,and remove the pilot bearing to make it work. Can I swap the crankshaft from the '03 into the '04.That way I don't have to remove the pilot bearing.
