    Single click then nothing

Hello, I was hoping some folks with far more experience with autos than myself could answer. I can add one more bit of detail here. If I park uphill and try to start the car sometimes I get the single click. If I roll backwards a few feet, place the Auto transmission back into park it always...

    Single click then nothing

The only other info I can provide is I just started the Jeep about 8 times, each time no problem at all. So if I have a bad connection wouldn't it prevent 8 straight starts in a row?

    Single click then nothing

04Liberty, I have not done that. I don't have jacks either. If I can get under there somehow I can take a look at the starter. Also I was thinking of running a wire from the hot wire up to the + on the battery ( from what I have read ). Jim

    Single click then nothing

Hi Renegade, Thanks for the reply. For more than a year I have been driving the Jeep with a p0442 check engine light on. Other than the single click and no start the Jeep has been good. I am wondering now if the ASD is triggering the P0442 ( small evap leak ) INSTEAD of a tear in a hose for...

    Single click then nothing

Hi, I am trying to figure out why my Jeep Liberty clicks once time (key turn ) per cycle when trying to start. I have been looking at say 5 different things. The first thing is make sure the battery cables are clean and tight. I just cleaned the terminals and tightened them down. I am...

    Propellor Shaft CV joint removal

Hello, I hope this might help someone else. Where I was striking the CV joint with the flat head screwdriver and the hammer would have never worked. Propellor Shaft CV joint removal

Hi thanks for the reply. Maybe I should upload a picture here of what I am trying to pry loose. I don't know where this snap ring is in relation to where I am using a screw driver and a hammer. But I am working at the very end of the CV joint and placing the screw driver where this outer end cap...

    Propellor Shaft CV joint removal

Hi, I was able to drop the front propeller shaft for my Jeep Liberty. The problem is the rear CV joint has a broken boot, and stuff got in there. So now I am trying to get the end cap off the the rear CV joint and it will not budge. Is this, "end cap" actually screwed on somehow? So a special...

    Drive shaft length

Thanks Tom, I was looking at the kits for the actual rear CV joint and also videos on the task. A friend of mine says you need a press to press everything together, my understanding is besides the new rear CV joint kit, you need a vice and some other hand tools but you DO NOT need a press. Is...

    Drive shaft length

Hello, I have a Jeep Liberty 2002 with a 3.7L Automatic and 2D, 4HI, and 4LO transmission. The problem is the rear CV joint of the front drive shaft has a hole in the rubber boot. I may opt to replace this joint ( a replacement kit ) or buy a new front drive shaft. The problem I am...

    Jeep interior colors

Hello, I have a front driver seat, which is torn and I am trying to figure out the correct color choice to get another seat from a salvage yard. I may order it online so I may not see the seat until it arrives. My Jeep is a Liberty 2002 3.7 L Auto 4x4 and NO driver side air bag. I have...
