Thank you all. CV axles have both been replaced. New axle nut was 36mm instead of 35mm so that was wonderful..... Also replaced upper control arms as ball joint boots were getting torn up. Finally, for the remaining ball joints, a drill-powered wire brush was all it took to clean up the threads...
Does anyone know the thread specifications for the front axle and font axle nut?
I was replacing my hubs and ran into a s***load of problems, one of which being cross threading BOTH axle nuts. I had to buy a new driver's side CV axle assembly, but would like to fix the passenger side threads...
If you simply want to get rid of the smell, go to a detail shop that has an ozone generator.
They will pump ozone into the jeep for about an hour and eliminate any odor!
Ahhhh yeah I totally forgot about the bumpers too!
And there's no way you'd be able to find a full set of flares and bumpers in a junkyard that aren't destroyed.
Guess paint is probably your best option...
I'm not completely sure if it's possible, but have you considered buying pained flares?
Like ones from a KJ limited?
You could get them either in your color, or paint them to match.
Try a junkyard or eBay!
Use a heat gun (or hair dryer) to heat it up, then a plastic razor blade to peel the edges of the sticker off.
Make sure you have some liquid on there to somewhat shield your paint. I would use Meguiars "Last Touch".
If it's still giving you trouble, throw a light spray of tar remover on...
At the shop I work at, we use magic erasers for light scuffs and dirt too.
For tougher stuff I usually take a Scotchbrite scour pad and some Meguiars either "Super Degreaser" or "All Purpose Cleaner".
Not sure if those are available to consumers or just commercially though.
The scour pads...
yeah that's exactly it!
as for the other questions, it is around idle rpm so 600 or so I believe?
I'll leave my OBD plugged in one day and get an exact number.
No check engine light.
and the brakes I just replaced the front rotors and front and rear pads over the summer so unless it's the back...
I've had this slight problem ever since I bought the KJ.
When I'm at a red light, and I let off the brakes enough for the jeep to start rolling, the whole thing shakes.
I'm pretty sure this is not normal, and I'd like to know what is causing it.
The shaking is not severe, but feels like...
Hey guys!
I've been looking around on craigs for some 16" wheels but can't find anything in my area.
My KJ came with the 17" aluminum and I can't find any good aggressive snow tires that will fit well w/o lifting.
I'd also like a different set for summer and winter.
So if anyone has a set...
I wasn't too interested in the deflectors originally but then I got my tint in front, and now I see how they would be useful haha.
Saw a set on craigs that was brand new I think for $50 - $70 or so, but didn't think I needed them at the time...
I got my weathertechs a while back for $50 on craigs.
That included the two front digital fit mats and a huge rear cargo liner!
The cargo liner catches so much crap it's amazing, so much less vacuuming i have to do! :P
Here are some pics, they're pretty dusty but are awesome! No more slush...
Apparently overfilling the oil can cause high pressure buildup?
Overfilled mine after doing an oil change and it started leaking oil everywhere!
Turns out it blew apart my oil pressure sending unit.
I took it out to replace it and hooked it up to my air compressor
and sure as heck a huge...
If richar43 doesn't take the liners i DEFINITELY will.
My KJ didn't even come with a driver's floor mat :disgust:
I have a garbage $5 mat in there not but that won't last long.
IGGEE Seat Covers are probably the best seat covers available.
They are a little expensive, but are a custom fit and custom colors are available.
Check out some pics!
