    ARB Bumper, Frankenlift, and Duratracs

I was just over at Lost and saw some pictures of Boiler's rear bumper. I'm going to get one of them for this round of upgrades too. I'm thinking, ARB front bumper with Warn winch, OME 790 springs to replace the 927's, Boiler's rear bumper, and GY Duratrac 265/75R16 Load C's on my Moabs. I...

    ARB Bumper, Frankenlift, and Duratracs

Is there a clevis or extra plate up front? Also, how do you have the rear setup in this photo? Thanks

    Shitty Week.

Man, that sucks. The window regulator and wiper aren't too big off a deal, but the differential is another story. You're looking at $300 just to take it apart and put it back together. That's with no parts. When my rear diff started making noises kind of like a tire out of balance, it was the...

    ARB Bumper, Frankenlift, and Duratracs

Thanks for the photo. Looks like I'll be getting a Warn winch too. I don't really need it, but that has never stopped me before.:D I think I'll let the guys over at Line-X install the bumper for me. They're an ARB dealer and have always done good work for me. Plus, they are going to have to...

    ARB Bumper, Frankenlift, and Duratracs

My post in the tires section on trying to decide between the Grabbers and the Silent Armors has made me decide to go with the Duratracs. Currently, my KJ has a Frankenlift II Premium with OME HD springs, struts, and LT shocks. It has 1 extra set of rear iso's and is at 21" at all 4 fenders...

Trying to decide which new tires

OK, looking at the ARB bumper now to make the 265's a much easier fit. How much heavier would it be than the stock bumper with a Westin brush guard?

Trying to decide which new tires

Looks like the work is going to be on the lower part of the front fenders. I've done a quick trim by the fog light doors that I need to clean up, but still rub every once in a while right where the fenders and wheel wells meet. I know it's a hack job right now, but plan to finish it nicely...

Trying to decide which new tires

Oh, I keep coming back and looking at the Duratracs. I know I can just put them on the way the Jeep is right now if I go with the 245/75R16 Load C's like the Silent Armors I have now. If I go with them, I would really like to get the 265/75R16 Load C's. It sounds like I would need to do a...

No one here wants to see this..

If I remember correctly, it was found to be a combination of a horrible track that Chrysler wouldn't even test on, too tight of a slalom to test an SUV on, and driver error. They still lowered the KJ because of it. The driver also walked away from the crash.

Trying to decide which new tires

Well, I just measured and the KJ is only at 21" from center hub to the bottom of the fenders. The CV's are not at a bad angle at all either. It definitely looks like I could go another 1/2" - 1" higher. Some more plastic trimming..... Hmmm.... Looks possible. What's the best way to bring a...

Actual Lift Amount - Lets Compare Fender Heights

Just measured mine. It's had the Frankenlift II with OME HD's all around for a litlle over 2.5 years. It also has an extra set of iso's in the rear. 21" at all 4 fenders.

Trying to decide which new tires

I was just looking around at tirerack and saw that both the Grabbers and the Silent Armors are available in a 255/70R17. I think I could get those to fit with some of the 17"X8" Mamba rims that look just like the Rubicon Moab rims. They have them in silver machined, silver machined with black...

Trying to decide which new tires

Guys, I've run the Destination AT's through 2 winters. While they were much better than the stock SRA's, they are no where near as good as the Silent Armors in the winter stuff. They're also not as good on wet pavement. If you all that keep recommending them have run the Grabbers as well and...

Trying to decide which new tires

Not interested in the Destination AT's. The current Silent Armors are so much better in the winter stuff, there really is no comparison. I'm wanting something a little fatter than the 245/75R16's I have now, and definitely not smaller diameter. The Silent Armors easily drive across stuff I can't...

Trying to decide which new tires

As you all can probably tell, I kind of have a weakness for new tires. I've had 4 sets so far. It came with 235/70R16 SRA's, then to 245/70R16 Cross Terrains, then Firestone Destination AT 245/65R17's, and then a Frankenlift II with Silent Armor 245/75R16's. I'd love to get some 265/75R16...

    Line-X question

Well, I have spent $2000 there for Line-X, and installing the sliders and brush guard. It's also pretty obvious that the extremely thin layer of Xtra that got sprayed on is way too thin and didn't bond to the lower layer of Line-X correctly. I've also sent them a lot of other work for people...

    Line-X question

I'd say WV is your best bet. Snowshoe, Canaan, and Timberline are all pretty good. Not anything like being out west, but very nice for us in the south east. From where I live in Lexington, less than 6 hours to Snowshoe for an extended weekend or a nice week of skiing makes me very happy.:D

    Line-X question

No where in KY. I spend a couple weeks in West Virginia each winter. I also get a season pass and go to Perfect North every weekend during the winter. It's not much, but a lot better than not skiing. It's the only place I can drive to, ski all day, and drive back to Lexington. I'm going to have...
