    Engine Oil Quantity Question

Engine oil capacity of the 3.7 V6 is 5 US quarts WITH a new filter (which you should replace with every oil change, anyway). For the 2007 version of this engine, by the way, the recommended SAE viscosity grade is 5W-20, rather than 5W-30. O:)

What did you sell or trade to get your KJ?

Traded a 2001 Ford Taurus for a 2003 Grand Cherokee Laredo. Traded the Grand Cherokee for a 2005 Liberty Limited CRD. Traded the Liberty CRD for a 2007 Liberty Limited 3.7 V6. Third time's charm! \:D/

The Official "My Gas Mileage Sucks" Thread

Hmmm, yeah - can't fault your math. Maybe my foot was a bit too heavy with my CRD. If I got out on the road, got it up to 60 mph or so, re-set the computer, and stayed at that speed for 10 or 12 miles, I'd see 26 - 26.5 mpg. Real world, day-to-day, though, I was getting closer to 20 for combined...

The Official "My Gas Mileage Sucks" Thread

ENBr - If you're getting that kind of mileage out of your CRD, you must be driving a H... of a lot slower than I drove mine - and down-hill with a tail wind, to boot. :-s

A way to move the drivers seat back for more leg room?

We recently traded our '05 for an '07. Both are equipped with leather, dual 6-way power seats. I can't tell any difference on my side (since I like to sit pretty "high and tight", anyway) but my wife swears that she has more leg room (on the passenger side) with the '07 than she had with the...

No Transmission Dipstick on '07 Liberty???

Does anyone know why the 2007 Liberty with the automatic transmission doesn't have a transmission dipstick? Mine has a little cap on the top of the tube saying something about it being "for dealer use only". How are you supposed to check your transmission fluid? Would there be any reason why you...

Jeep readies new Liberty/Cherokee (Code name KK)

I'm just continuing to hope that the new "KK" will not have that "fold flat" front passenger seat that they're putting in the Nitro. If a few people really want it, then fine - make it an option. But also offer the 6-way power adjustable seat which has always been available in the Liberty...

Nubie with CRD Sport in UK

Sparky - Can't say for sure about your engine, but the turbocharged 2.8 CRD which I had in my 2005 Liberty Limited was made by VM Motori (jointly owned by DaimlerChrysler and Detroit Diesel) in Italy. I had my '05 for a little under 18 months, and it was a love/hate relationship. We loved the...

"Fold Flat" front passenger seat - '08 KK

Can't the belt line be adjusted similar to the current KJ's? Also, seat height adjustment? I think that was an option that I missed in my KJ. DOH! Phil - "Belt line" refers to the height of the side window sills, not to the seat belts. And, no, the fold-flat front passenger seats in the...

"Fold Flat" front passenger seat - '08 KK

I seriously hope that the so-called "fold flat" front passenger seat will be only one (of at least two) options on the 2008 Liberty. My wife and I looked at one of the new Dodge Nitros and she felt as if she was sitting down in a hole. The belt line is much higher than the current Liberty (as it...

HOW TO: Oil & Filter Change Procedure '05 CRD

Libertydude - As a sort of answer to your question, I just traded my '05 Liberty CRD for a new '07 Liberty with the 3.7. We initially traded for the CRD last summer (2005) when diesel fuel was much cheaper than gasoline, and I had visions of getting 26+ MPG with the CRD. Wrong on both...

    Spare Tire Question

Thanks for the reply, jeepjeepster. Actually, I was just trying to decide if it's safe to leave the spare uncovered and what wax/dressing/protectant (if any) I should put on it to prevent UV damage. My sincere apologies for upsetting especko.

    Spare Tire Question

On the subject of "uncovered" vs "covered" spare tires, what is the consensus on some of the dressings and "waxes" which are supposed to protect tires from UV and weather damage?
