Well I went to Walmart during my lunch today and had them see if my key had a chip just to make sure and they told me it definitely doesn't. Think I'm into getting a new PCM or having a shop hook into mine to see if it can be reset.
It ran with the other motor in it yes. I pulled that motor because it was knocking and now with the new motor it won't start. Could the PCM be fried? I thought maybe it had to do with me using a jump box to start it but this morning I pulled the battery from my DD Liberty and it still did the...
I only have the one key for the vehicle and it's the black key which as far as I know isn't chipped.
As for swapping the PCM it is the same one I didn't switch anything.
The key symbol on the dash doesn't light up either if that helps.
I recently pulled the motor out of one 03 liberty and put it into another 03 liberty but now when I try to start it it will run for about 2 seconds before shutting down. There is one code showing up p1686 I believe this has to do with the SKIM. Any ideas on where to look or what to try to fix...
Will ome springs from a kk also work on a kj. I looked on the ome website and they seem to be the same part numbers but I just wanted to make sure before I buy them. I found a used set with less then 2,000 which is why I'm asking.
Thanks
If you don't do with the mopar one I would recommend the cloye's timing set for it. I have used there timing sets on plenty of other motors and never had a problem. I also just put this set on my 3.7 I rebuilt for my liberty. In my opinion it's very good quality.
Anybody use one? Is it a good one or goes bad in a couple months? I know some things are better to go to the dealer so just wondering if this is one of those things.
Thanks in advance
well as the title says I am rebuilding a motor for my 2003 jeep liberty limited. I thought about just getting a new motor or having a low miles one from a scrapyard put in but I decided to go this route so I could do it my way and know it was built right with quality parts. Also I weighed out...
Well for Christmas this year I went ahead and bought myself another liberty. These little jeeps are addictive. This was an 03 sport with an engine knock. IT was just to good of a deal for me to pass off. Had full skids on it which I put on my DD untill I can get something better as well as...
Finally found this leak. Turns out it was a crack in the overflow bottle and once I did the pressure test I could see a small amount leaking. I will be going to several junkyards and pick-a-parts over the holiday break and will add this to the list of liberty parts to find. Hopefully that is the...
I checked the radiator in the corner after driving to work but didn't see anything. I will wait to see what the pressure test reveals before I buy a new radiator. No point throwing money at that if I have bigger problems. I still get the smell out of the exhaust but its not a constant smell more...
I'm not sure who made the replacement radiator I got it off ebay (probably not my best decision I'm hearing). I know it's not a mopar one though. The original cracked on the driver side as well. I'll look there first during the pressure test. I hope this isn't a head problem.
I will perform a pressure test this weekend and inspect it on the lift again. The only time I get a coolant smell is the first start up of the morning if I have someone else start it and I stand behind it. Otherwise after that if I start it again it doesn't do it and it doesn't do it when it is...
I have noticed lately that my coolant level drops about 2 inches below the cold fill line after 2 weeks of driving, and if I go on long drives it seems to be more missing then just short trips around town in those two weeks. Now I just had the system flushed and new radiator and thermostat, and...
Currently I have Mobil 10w-30 in it but I just put Mobil 5w-30 in it this morning as I heard that may help to switch to 5w-30. I will see how it goes in the next couple weeks.
Thanks guys that's definitely a load off my chest knowing its not a head problem. As for the PCV I replaced it when I did all the other work with new hoses and everything so the PCV should still be good as that was about 1000 miles ago. I will just keep an eye on it for now and keep everything...
Well today I went to check the oil because of all the work I have done to the libby recently and noticed it was about halfway in-between the marks. So I know it uses some oil anyway that's not my concern right now. When I went to put more oil in and removed the fill cap I noticed a milky residue...
