    Vibration at idle in drive?

Trans clutch shudder, not that unusual for the 42RLE. Usually particularly noticable backing up even a slight grade. IMO..., if it's not shuddering badly I'd just let it be. If the Dlr gets into it they're gonna also re-flash (update) your module (depending on the vehicle year). And sadly once...

    Low Rear end when towing

Check the drop on your draw bar/ball mount. It's a bit of a balancing act with the spare tire/trailer tongue clearance to get the desired/correct ball height. You may have to go with an 'extra long' draw bar to get the ball height you want and still clear the spare tire getting your trailer...

2 jeeps which to buy !!!

Are they both 4X4s, or just the '06?? That's a big deal IMO.

At dealer getting weird info on calibrating odo

Hey Rockymountain... Please tell me the name of your dealer so I can ctc them. My dealer was unable to get the computer to accept the 684 revs per mi for my new 245/75s. They told me my '05 computer would not accept anything less than 720 revs per mile (which is the rev/mi of the OEM...

Not by choice, but joined the Tommudd Club again :-(

Permanent solution to this problem..., permission to treat the lowlife(s) like LF's raccoons (not that I encourage raccoon assassinations - lol). Guaranteed... no more thefts in less than 6mos. No more need to spend any $$ on alarm systems/Clubs etc., etc. Kinda like a few strategically placed...

So wats ya gettin' for your KJ for Xmas???

My KJ got his Xmas gifts a few days early. Also getting rid of those charcoal briquettes the previous owner was using for brake pads - lol. Adaptive ones are under the tree!

    Rough Ride

Well put tjkj. Although the Tiguan does have considerably more 'off road' ability than RAV, CRV, Escape etc., it's 4Motion (Haldex awd) still has no low range. And it's based on the Rabbit/Golf platform. So when it comes to a purpose built body, and off the pavement skills, were talking apples...

    Rough Ride

I recently purchased a used, 64K, completely stock '05 Rennie 4X4 w/ Yokohama Geolander HT-S tires. I was amazed at how civilized the ride was (even @ 35psi). Tires (brand and model.., how much wear, inflation, LT or P metric type, and especially how old they are) can dramatically effect the...

    Mopar (OEM) Hella 500 fogs/covers

Hmmmm..., very interesting, possibly another option. Thx RJ

    Mopar (OEM) Hella 500 fogs/covers

Actually, I believe the current regular ('retail') Hella 500 lenses are compatable w/our 'Mopar' 500 lenses. Not absolutely sure though. It's the mounting and the lamp housing on our Mopar 500s that cause the 'retail' Hella 500 covers not to fit properly. You can get replacement lenses fron...

    Renegade Owners ONLY!

Ck'd them out, not even close - LOL. New subject - FYI: I believe read somewhere that the '05+ Renegade OEM Fog Lights were Hella 500s supplied to Mopar by Hella (like on Wrangler also). Well, I wanted stone guards for my new to me Rennie Fogs. Talked to Mopar parts, searched the manuals &...

I believe read somewhere that the '05+ Renegade OEM Fog Lights were Hella 500s supplied to Mopar by Hella (like on Wrangler also). Well, I wanted stone guards for my new to me Rennie Fogs. Talked to Mopar parts, searched the manuals & micro fiche, Mopar parts websites for a pic & part no, and...

    42RLE Shudder in reverse

Exactly!! I really liked being able to 'feather' it in or out of lockup, as appropriate for the load, with a gentle nudge of the throttle.

So wats ya gettin' for your KJ for Xmas???

OME lift @ All J's 5 - 245/75 R16s Weathertech digitals for the front Merry Xmas KJ!

    42RLE Shudder in reverse

Interesting..., never done that. Rennie staying @ dealer over night. My first choice is still to just have the 'lockup' function as it always has up until 2 wks ago when Dlr rebuilt the trans. Thx osu.

    Mounted spare question

Mounted a 245/75 R16 Destination on my '05 Rennie yesterday. Perfect fit w/out spacers, clears window and looks excellent. Kinda heavy though - lol.

    42RLE Shudder in reverse

    42RLE Shudder in reverse

Thx tjkj... ok I can handle that I guess. Is the shuddering doing any serious damage or do we just accept that as normal behavior for a 42? Plus, please read my edited post(s) above regarding issue #2 regarding feathering in and out of lockup w/out going all the way back into third - I tow a...

    42RLE Shudder in reverse

Thx "J". I edited my post after you responded, adding that the reason I liked that ability to feather in and out of lockup is for those long race trips towing that light trailer. I realize downshifting is not harmful, I just hate having to stuff the throttle thereby triggering an unneeded...
