    Small Oil Leak

The old gasket came off. Must be the seal leaking. Is this something I need to be concerned with? It's just a tiny dribble of oil, doesn't affect the level on the dipstick. I just wasn't sure if it did any harm or not.

    Small Oil Leak

Everything looks fine. Not sure why I keep getting a small drip on the bottom of the filter. The gasket must not be sealing perfectly.

    Small Oil Leak

Hi. I keep getting a tiny amount of oil on the bottom of my filter. I keep wiping it off, but it comes back. Not enough to drip or change the oil level. Can I leave it like that for the next 3000 miles until it's time to change again or could it hurt something? Thanks.

    Changing Brake Pads - Question

The old rotor wasn't blue. Had all kinds of grooves on it though. I put new rotors on, so they're smooth now at least for a while. So everybody's caliper usually just comes right off? I got all the bolts off and worked that caliper back & forth and pulled on it and wiggled it and pulled...

    Changing Brake Pads - Question

When I changed my front brake pads is it normal that I had to compress the piston before removing the caliper from the rotor? There was no way it was coming off otherwise. The pads were tight up against the rotors. I was thinking today that that doesn't seem right. Doesn't that mean my brake...

    Throttle by Wire

I actually had to return my 2007 Liberty because the "drive by wire" combined with a "manual" transmission was just a nightmare. Screwed up all of the timing you need when driving a manual. I'd shift and press the pedal, and nothing would happen, then all of a sudden it would kick in, and when...

    Recommended spark plugs

Just wondering why not use same plugs that it was built with? I know they don't last long, but you would think you would at least have no problems with them since Jeep spec'd the Liberty with them. If you're going to change them every 25,000 miles or so, it wouldn't really matter if they...

    Need some advice?

I would say something is wrong. I have an '07 also. I would easily get over 20 if highway driving, and 16-18 city driving. It has gotten worse now because Oregon has switched to some stupid ethanol blend year-round now. I haven't checked lately, but it's still not as bad as what your...

    42rle adaptive learning reset?

When I am speeding up to merge onto a highway mine will upshift to 4th gear at the same time I am still pressing the pedal down to accelerate. That makes no sense at all. At least wait until I let up on the pedal a bit. I am now a frequent user of the OD button.

    Transmission/Engine Noise on '07

I don't get any slamming into gear though like your other post talked about. I'll be going a steady speed on flat ground and then come to a hill while keeping the same steady speed. Right at the beginning of the hill it seems like it wants to downshift, but it refuses and makes this buzzy...

    Transmission/Engine Noise on '07

Can't find an answer to this. This happens when I'm driving on something like a hilly forest road, going up & down and around curves. Sometimes when I go from flat to a hill as soon as I get back on the accellerator to go up the hill the jeep will act like it wants to downshift, but it...

Big "KLUNK" and the window quit working..Happen to you ??

I have a 2007. The driver side window was coming up then pulling to the right, then pulling back to the left to get back on track......made a unhealthy sound while doing this. I sprayed WD40 in the track on both sides and it has worked fine since then. I hope it keeps working.........don't...

    KJ and a manual transmission...

I don't know why they switched from the 5-speed to the new 6-speed. The 6th gear on the new one is lower than 5th gear on the old one. I don't see the advantages of the new 6-speed. Must be cheaper to make.

    KJ and a manual transmission...

Another big thing I like about manuals is that no service is required. The less a stranger touches my jeep the better. With an automatic, unless you do your own work, they have to remove the pan, remove the filters, flush the transmission if you desire, clean the pan, put gasket material...

    KJ and a manual transmission...

I had an '07 Manual Liberty, and I traded it in for an Automatic. I thought the 6-speed was horrible !!! People would take off from a stoplight and be way up the road while I was still messing around in 1st and 2nd gear. 1st gear is extremely low and you only need to stay in it for a...

    Liberty Rattles

You're a brave man to let the Crookership touch your transmission. I get stressed out when they change my oil. I'd be a wreck if I knew they were messing with the transmission.

    2007 trans dipstick (2006 vs 2007)

I think you only get the additional $1,000 bonus cash if it's a Limited 4x2, otherwise it's just $3,500. Not positive, but that's what I get from Jeep.com.

    2007 trans dipstick (2006 vs 2007)

I owned an '07 Manual Tranny and I returned it I hated it so much. I think it was the "electronic throttle control" that really screwed it up for me. The delay caused by the "ETC" made it impossible to get any timing perfected which you need for driving a manual transmission. It really...
