    Building for the Wife...

when i get the heated part connected properly and the power part connected properly, I'll do a formal write-up of how I did it. Hopefully someone can benefit from my trials and errors

    Renegade/Factory Roof Lightbar Questions

my wife wants the factory one for her KJ. we have the Renegade Roof Rack and she says it looks weird without the lightbar. There will always be a demand for both aftermarket LED lightbars and the Renegade style. On my XJ, I would rather have the aftermarket 2 row curved LED light bar. If you...

    Oil Light

I called the dealer - they said that the part number 4868672AA has been replaced with 5149097AA. I can find both online. The "replacement" part is more expensive, and when I search - its listed as a Crown. WTH is up with the dealer trying to sell me a Crown part rather than Mopar? Has it been...

Headed to the U-Pull yard, anything I shouldn't leave without?

super lucky pulls all around! I cant find tow hooks, skids or the renegade light bar and I have been to a dozen salvage yards. I know I should get better aftermarket skids but its the wife's KJ so she wont do any real wheeling. I have found some good finds, just never that elusive trifecta

    Oil Light

I have the HD fan waiting to go in, but I have a leaky PS pump that I want to change first since that HD fan will take up all the workroom up front. Perhaps I could do the PS pump and the sensor at the same time huh? that would give me some more room... In terms of catching oil, if I can use...

    Building for the Wife...

I installed the fog lights. When I found them at the salvage yard, I took not only the lights, but the complete wiring harness for the headlights/fog-lights combo as well. This was a super easy addition to make, except for getting a connector to come undone with 12 years worth of dirt sticking...

    Oil Light

I should clarify... I live at an apartment complex, so loosing any oil would be problematic. Technically I'm not supposed to work my jeeps here - but as long as I keep it 'superficial', I'm tolerated. Getting the oil catch pan out and potentially making a mess would end my ability to do any...

    Oil Light

My wife's 05 just started doing this yesterday. Same issue with no change in noises or operation of the jeep, just the dash light on (and light off if you turn the jeep off then back on). How much was the sensor and how hard was it to change? I just had an oil change done at the dealership 500...

HOW TO: How to install Mopar Foglights

I went to the salvage yard yesterday... and the jeep I pulled the fog lights from had been crushed so there is no way to know for sure about that jeep. However, I did find a 2002 that had the turn-signal stock with the fog lights and sure enough it is different. I pulled that one and I'll...

    Tail Light Preferences and Experiences

I agree - I have not seen many aftermarket lights I like. I did find a pair of chrome light guards (which I'm gonna paint either flat black or silver to match the Jeep) at the salvage yard. If you want brighter lights, just use LED bulbs in the sockets. The big advantage is that if an LED goes...

    PS pump recommendations

How much is the reman Mopar one? Id been looking at a NAPA one or a Crown one from Amazon - both around $90 - but I get $10 back for the core at NAPA. Curious to see which is cheaper. I have never had issues with NAPA parts, but Ive never had anything other than rubber molding from Crown.

    Antenna types and relocation?

I am not a fan of the antenna location and I would be interested in moving it. I like where it is on my XJ, but the hood design on the KJ prevents that location. Has anyone moved their antenna? Also - if I'm gonna move it, I would take this opportunity to upgrade to a dual AM/FM & CB antenna...

HOW TO: How to install Mopar Foglights

I could swear that the salvage yard headlight stalk was missing that - but now I'm not so sure... Guess I gotta go back and hope that it hasn't disappeared yet!

    Any National Liberty Meet-ups?

I may consider doing that... I just need to talk again with my friend about how much of a PITA it was setting it all up for the FJ Summit. Colorado is indeed a great place to trail ride with everything from pansy to full on pucker. Before I gauge interest, I need to find out more logistics...

    Any National Liberty Meet-ups?

I was talking with a friend of mine who for the past 11 years, has helped organize a national meet-up for Toyota FJ Cruisers called the FJSummit (FSSummit.org). Its a once-a-year meet-up for wheeling and other FJ/Toyota related interests. I know there are a myriad of General Jeep events, but I...

HOW TO: How to install Mopar Foglights

I can definitely see it - but I can also say that it definitely wasn't on the Jeep I pulled the lights from. I also did check that they didn't have an aftermarket switch - and if they did, they hid it really well because I could not find it. I notice you have an 04, is there a difference...

HOW TO: How to install Mopar Foglights

Sorry for bringing up an old thread... BUT: I got the fog lights from a 2005 at a salvage yard. I took the lights and the wiring harness. It looks like its just plug in and presto - but I see mention of the headlight stalk in the IKEA directions for the install kit. I did not take the...
