It was a 2006 Saturn Ion Redline Race Package. 1 of 274 of its kind
made in Canada. Beautiful 2.0L Saab supercharged engine..... bringing
back memories now :(
Insurance company stopped quoting repairs after $13,000 and the
adjuster said they hadn't even gotten to the body and frame...
yeah i don't really want to go through insurance. My wife just wrote off my VERY rare sports car last October and our insurance went up A LOT. This will just add to the fire. Maybe its time for some sticker!! Rubicon maybe :P
lol that sucks. The damage we have so far seems to be the clear coat. It looks like when the hail hit it, it cracked the clear. So my jeep is now covered in small what looks like rock chips....
glad to hear that. I guess Jeep's idea is a sway bar will help avoid a high speed rollover but basically makes all other times worse... sheesh poor performance 99% of the time for a slim chance of rolling over.
Yay, finally got around to removing the rear sway bar. I find the ride on our roads which are horrible is much better. Less "slamming" over pot holes. An overall softer feeling in the rear which is very nice. Anyone else enjoy their rides better with a deleted rear sway bar?
And yes I...
how bad is the drop in MPG when O/D is off vs O/D on? I don't feel like wearing out the lockup TC so I will always tow with O/D off I was just curious.
Thanks for the links!! I was looking at a passive (no fan)
style cooler but those are way better. I think I will go with
this cooler, and maybe buy a separate fan that I wan wire
to a dash switch.

Well we have our 18' camper trailer that starting this summer we plan to do lots of camping, most of it highway driving. Now I do see a small transmission cooler next to the rad but is this enough? I know from experience that heat is a killer of transmissions. Would it be worth upgrading to a...
its great to have for road driving I agree totally. Now matter what your skills are these systems can react faster then you. But for off roading and generally having fun it sucks....
What year is your Liberty ChiefRudy? When I press my trac button some of the control systems stop working. Limited slip and some other features are only available on some liberty's. My 07 for example has every control feature on it. While others with less options may not have as many. I wish I...
I've been fighting this same battle. I'm currently working on a switch that will knock out the nanny controls. I just need to do more research, there are 5 control systems in most Liberty's and not all of them may reside in the ABS module. Pulling the fuse may disable the rear albeit "fake"...
haha we got that issue too. Good think I carry a 10L gas can with us on this trip. Going to be a good trip. Can't wait to get home and do some more projects on the jeep.
lol yeah are we there yet is right! from the Sault to TB is roughly 9 hours! and aside from mountains cliffs and trees there isn't much to see. Some times we will head east at Wawa and head straight to Sudbury. Depends on how much energy and fuel we have. Gas stations along that router are...
There's some great info here. Just to add, if you do find that your wax has dried and crusted before you were able to remove it don't fret. just use water and soap to remove. Dry and caked on wax when buffed can scratch your paint.
I agree with HoosierJeeper I usually wax my whole vehicle, but...
Just for the sake of sharing here is the route we are taking home. Its a 2 day drive roughly 11 hours a day. We have already driven this 6 times this year. Should be fun. This is the same route we will be using when we bring our 18' camper back up next year.
If anyone from the forums is from...
Thanks Ry'N Jen and LibertyTC. we actually live on the Quetico Park Border. Down a road named Flanders RD. It is beautiful here. Only problem is its pretty far away from civilization. We are looking forward to heading back home because we drive down HW 17 to Sault St. Marie.. Now that's...
