    Brake Noise Diagnosis

I basically rebuilt the entire suspension of the summer, finally got the tri-link ball joint support on the differential, and did all the brakes (discs, pads, etc.) I even put a new caliper bracket and bolts on the front left of the car after an issue with seized pins, did the rotor at the same...

Very concerning knocking/clunk noise! PLEASE HELP!

I replaced my tri-link but still had the issue. Turns out it was not just the tri-link but also the bolt and the mount for the joint that bolts to the differential. The whole middle was worn out enough to allow a lot of play so the bolt is doing all the work instead of the collar.

    Power Seats Powerless

In trying not to sound naive where would I be checking and what settings would the meter need to be on, assuming simple 12V setting.

    Power Seats Powerless

Trying to diagnose this, I don’t own an ohm meter so I may be shopping soon. 2005 Limited with power front seats. Both seats are dead, I changed the circuit breaker that sits on the inside of the interior fuse panel. From research it seems the top right breaker was common to go. Put in a new...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Diagnosed and in the process of replacing the power seat circuit breaker. Both front seats without power, found the breaker and hoping the $7 part fixes the problem. Just did oil changes on both cars, and just psyched I got to a point in my experience I can do it easily and in about 10...

Where are the safest points to put a jack and jack stands on a 2003 Jeep Liberty KJ?

Funny, I roll right under our 05 Limited for oil. I stopped lifting it about a year ago, plenty of room to reach back and get to the plug. No need to get your face next to it, just far enough to feel and reach. I roll back to about the beginning of the pan then reach for the rest. Also get...

New Tri Link still a slight knock here and there

That's my next choice is to look at car-parts.com or someplace similar. Keystone possibly, but I'm waiting to hear from my Parts Mgr friend at the Jeep dealer to see if he found anything. The one on ebay is going for $380?!? is that sound insane or about right for this piece?

To update, here is the best pic I had while looking at the collar.

New Tri Link still a slight knock here and there

Turns out my collar bracket is also oblonged from years of driving. Apparently they don’t have or make this part so now I have to finger cross for eBay for part 52128586AA. I’ve replaced the bolt, arm, all pieces except the actual collar and I still h e a knock when the differential is moved...

New Tri Link still a slight knock here and there

Found the culprit. Removed the bolt and saw this. Unfortunately it is Sunday and stores are closed so tomorrow first thing I go bolt shopping.

If you're wondering how you know when you need new suspension parts....

I'm deferring to my mechanic neighbor to help out on this one. He has the gas as I only have the blue bottles and am not savvy enough for heating these components in the right spot. He also has a puller that will help to pry it away. I am going to him tomorrow to check into my rear UCA issue...

New Tri Link still a slight knock here and there

Retightened, noise still present. See video of me rocking and getting that same creaking clunk as the old one had. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Azg_k_y7RMk

If you're wondering how you know when you need new suspension parts....

Lower control arm is giving me a headache because the BJ needs replacing but the hub is frozen onto the axle so I can't get it off to remove and press a new one in.

If you're wondering how you know when you need new suspension parts....

I did ours just over a year ago with a set of Moog coilovers. The biggest PITA part was the stupid fork and getting it back in place. Otherwise the engine bay access is pretty straightforward.

Front End Rabbit Hole, Tell me when to stop

Sorry for the lack of pics but it was a LONG weekend under the car. I started Saturday late morning and got the rear brakes all set, basically rebuilding the calipers and reassembling. Then the tri-link was tightened again but still makes a knocking sound (big source of frustration now). The...

Front End Rabbit Hole, Tell me when to stop

So I should fill the pin holes up with grease? I have the right stuff but was going to coat the pin and put a small glob at the entrance and slide it in.

Front End Rabbit Hole, Tell me when to stop

They didn't have additional cups. Hoping to get the oil and rear brakes done tonight so I can focus on the front left tomorrow.

Front End Rabbit Hole, Tell me when to stop

I was tempted to just do them all but the front left has really been a plagued problem for this car for years so I'm really eager to get that out of the way. The right is really solid by comparison. And yes famous last words but I'll get the press tool from the store as well and have some...
