Firefighter trying to find places to mount & install of my gizmos.

Re: Firefighter trying to find places to mount & install of my gizmos. I mounted my Ham radio under the drivers seat and put the control head above the center vents. Pics are here http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53652 I don't have any volunteer gear installed yet but have...

    Removing swaybar and axle "nuts"

Planning to crawl underneath and remove the counter weight from the axle yoke and wanted to get everyone's idea of removing the rear sway bar. I've pulled the rear sway for every other Jeep I've owned but wanted options on the Lib since its a new platform to me. I already have OME springs and...

    Jba uca

No you don't have to. Not sure of the part number but they are the same ones used by Chevys and the like. I'm sure a search will yield a part number for a moog which can be cross referenced for other brands Sent from my Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk 2

Took my KJ out for the first time today...

I wouldn't waste money on roof rails with the factory side rails. They are plastic ends bolted to the roof with two small books on each corner. I took mine off and will probably upgrade to a rocky offroad one Sent from my Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk 2

The hose on the firewall? That's the drain for the ac condensation. Sent from my Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk 2

    Short Antenna Opinions

There's not much difference either way as far as reception it will be degraded. I cut mine down to smaller length and painted it black. The nice part is the metal ball on the end is removable so when your done with the cut it goes back on. Saved me wasting money and reception is still not too...

    My Blue KJ

Never liked the 80's monster truck look with all the shock boots either. :D People are always thinking I have some type of pre runner setup without the boots Sent from my Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk 2

    My Blue KJ

I never use boots on any of mine. They fill with mud and debris which cause the tops to rust prematurely when it can't escape. Sent from my Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk 2

Sound in engine bay, maybe serpentine belt?

The tensioner pulley can be a culprit when your getting noise. I replace it when I change my serp belt just to keep things tip top. Sent from my Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk 2

    Any Ham's around these parts?

Great to see you all and thank you! The nice thing with the remote head radios is the ability to hide the brain under the seat. I finally went with a Diamond mount for the antenna and was glad I had just enough cable with it to avoid buying the extra coil. Having the piece of mind of having...

    Engine Steams During Heavy Rain

Nothing to worry about, same thing can happen after going through a car wash. Water hitting heat sources. Sent from my Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk 2

    Hey there from PDX

Thank you! The wheels are MB Tko's from America's/ Discount tire. I might add a rack down the road but to me the factory rails just made the whole top seem more rounded. Trying to square up more like an XJ :D Sent with my Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk 2

    Hey there from PDX

Finally decided to drop in here and say hi. Been reading a lot between here and L.O.S.T I've owned about every other type of Jeep there is (except a YJ) and finally pulled the trigger on a bone stock 2005 Limited. In the last month I've installed a Frankenlift, JBA UCA's, New tires and wheels...
