What the F...got home from work and planned to fire it up and scan the codes. Well, it started just fine and it was -9 degrees farenheit last night. Good sign.
For some reason, the CEL didn't come on! It was still sputtering and a bit rough, the knock seemed much less pronounced, almost...
Correct. Came right out of left field. Ran perfect one day, 8 hours later this. That's why I'm really thinking it's got to be some kind of electrical component or sensor...normally when an engine gets "budketized" it's a slow process of deterioration. Who knows.
Gotta get the scanner plugged...
Yea as of right now (just woke up) I am going with the glass half full approach and thinking it's a bad coil pack or plug issue. Still haven't scanned it yet, will get into it tomorrow when I get home from work.
I certainly hope I didn't "budketize" my engine.
Well it finally happened...not sure what but it's something bad. Drove the Jeep in to work last night and it was perfectly fine. Started it this morning to go home and it was knocking pretty bad, and the CEL was on.
Started driving it home, noticed a distinct lack of power and the knocking got...
I am going to grease it. I was just out of grease last night and I'm at work today. Perhaps later...
Sway bar bushings have been siliconed. Still creaking.
It's a Frankenlift I. Al's Gen 4.5 upper arms. Original lower arms.
Hey ya'll. Got a problem that has me scratching my head. I'm getting what I would call a "creak" from my driver side front suspension. It occurs upon loading or unloading of the suspension, such as when stopping or when I get in/out of the Jeep. I thought I had it narrowed down to the upper...
Well, it's a custom modification. It's not a bolt-on kit that you can buy and put on in 15 minutes. Everyone so far I think has done it a little differently than the next guy. I suggest you re-read the thread you linked to and also this one on LOST...
I'm waiting for a snowball to hit me...I'm just long overdue. Tires, battery, brakes and a frontend that might as well be held together with duct tape...it'll probably all fail at once.
Well after owning a few V8, full size, full frame pickups and SUV's I can't say that I feel like my KJ is a heavy vehicle or an exceptionally solid one for that matter. But it has impressed the hell out of me.
Five. 1980 258, 1983 258, 1988 258, 1989 258, 1995 4.0
I know, probably not nearly as many as Thunderbirdjunkie. But the 258/4.0 are world reknowned for their reliability and stoutness. How could you call them BS?
I distinctly recall having a motherf**ker of a time finding a 35mm socket. Actually I can't remember where I ended up going...Harbor Freight I think. Sears, Lowes, Pep Boys, Advance, Fisher, Vato Zone...nobody had one.
