What did you do to your jeep today?

Almost to the end of our cross-country road trip, and the Jeep has done great. Towing a 6x10 cargo trailer. 4500mi, 102 hours, 9.4mpg, and 16 states. In NJ now, few more miles and states to go to the final destination of Maine. It's been one hell of an incredible adventure. Asheville...

    One thing after another

Y'all are making me feel a lot better about all this. It can always be worse. It was a quick fix, and they made sure to get all the bubbles out of the system. Did Fins N' Things first thing this morning. Then we drove I-70 west from Moab, over two 7k passes, and down to Zion today. She did...

    One thing after another

Begin Rant: Got our trip started last Friday, headed towards South Lake Tahoe. 2mi from Echo Summit on hwy 50, the Jeep blew the high pressure heater return line, made for a steamy hood opening in the 20 degree blizzard. AAA saved us, towed it, and the trailer, to the closest dealership...

    JBA 2.5" Rear Springs

I do have them still. They are packed in the trailer, and since I'm moving to Maine, it'll be cheap to ship them once I'm there

No Running Light Power at 7pin Harness

Thanks for replying Bill. I've tested the 7-pin with a volt meter and it all checks out, sans the running lights. I've checked the fuses, and they are all good. Everything on the trailer has been tested and is functioning normally. Factory tow package. Just rechecked using ground in 7-pin...

    Did I do alright? $2100 2007 Liberty.

That seems like a decent price. I've been looking for a donor lately and they are either rust buckets or relatively mint, like yours sounds. Good buy! I think you'll find that this site has a wealth of information, and knowledgeable members to back that info up. Do the due diligence when you...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Thank goodness for full coverage! Glad no one got hurt, and that the Liberty only suffered minor damage. 6' to the left and that may have been a different story. I've heard the Mint 400 is a great event, though I've never had the chance to go. Went to King of the hammers, was really cool.

    Spring 2018 KJ Inspections!

Put in new NGK copper cores, oil change, and new intermediate shaft + a pair of napa reman CVs. Saw that my power steering high pressure line is weeping from the top crimp. Putting it on the to do list. Also, Monroe load levelers are a great shock. I've had +/-1000lb in the back and it...

No Running Light Power at 7pin Harness

I'm not sure what the running lights would be on the Jeep. All lights function properly, including reverse.

No Running Light Power at 7pin Harness

I've been getting the Jeep ready for a cross-country road trip. Running through the checklist, I ended last night on the mounting the wiring harness to the Mopar 7pin connector. After hooking it up, I began testing connections. Left/Right turn, brakes, and positive all worked. However...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Preparing for a move, and towing a trailer. Installed a brake controller, very easy after I found the brake wire. New spark plugs. Oil change. Drained the transmission pan, and put into a gallon of fresh ATF+4

    JBA extended swaybar end links

I put extended links on yesterday and did over 400miles on them yesterday. I'll be taking them off today, and sending them back. I had a slight clunk before, but now with these on it's much more noticeable. The upper bolt on the swaybar end link hits the tab for the ABS wire when turning full...

    Valvoline MaxLife- High Mileage Blend

Learning a lot from all of y'all. Glad everyone is willing to share their knowledge on here. It's safe to put ATP into your oil? Didn't realize that was a thing. I'm actually in the process of moving across country. Santa Cruz, CA > Portland, ME for a new job. What's the opinion on...

    Valvoline MaxLife- High Mileage Blend

I misspoke and didn't mean to imply that I'm putting seafoam into the engine through the intake. I've added it to the brake booster line. They make a spray bottle of it that takes at least 15 or more minutes to empty, and I keep a rock on the pedal to keep the RPMs up. After the bottle is...

    Time for brakes. Suggestions?

I've upgraded to drilled/slotted rotors with ceramic pads and they do the job. Are the rotors any better? I don't think so. I think upgrading the brake pads was more helpful. Annoying too when they get clogged up with mud, though out here in CA mud only happens a few weeks a year. If they...

    Valvoline MaxLife- High Mileage Blend

I've been running Castrol HM for about 100k miles. Change every 3k religiously. No leaks and my sludge buildup underneath the oil cap is non-existent. I also run about 5-10% Lucas HD oil stabilizer since she started putting a bit of smoke out of the tailpipe. Seafoam is a great product...

    Mopar Woes

You're right. These aren't technically snap rings. Listed as axel shaft lock rings. Not sure why Jeep was asking so much.

    JBA 2.5" Rear Springs

Have a set of Jeepin By Al rear springs, 2.5" of lift. Used them for about 1 year, so they have plenty of life still. $75 + shipping from zip code 95062 (up until we move on 3/15)

    Mopar Woes

Took the Liberty into the shop to have them inspect front axles, and transfer case. Need all new front axles, glad I found out now versus when I'm on the road. Transfer case is good. They also noticed the differential support bracket bushing (? not sure correct name for part) is shot, and are...

    Painting wheels

Are you a sour German, or just have an insatiable love sauerkraut? I'm more of a kimchi guy, but I do enjoy a good sauerkraut. :happy175::happy175: The powder coating has been on there for about 5 years and it's held up great. Minus some rock rash, they still look really good. The only...
