That's nuts!!
I'd guess the seller didn't tick the 'clean and free from oils' box in the declaration. I sent some gearbox parts to the US and had to give them a good clean before shipment.
The rail pressure doesn't look too bad. They suffer massively from air leaks into the fuel system, there isn't a lift pump so the CP3 pulls all the way from the tank.
The little CRD is more like an industrial engine when you look inside.
I doubt oil thickening will help with blown by. Check the breather system isn't blocked with crud.
I'd pop the aux belt off, check the tensioner and all the other pulleys. I did all the idlers and the tensioner pulley on...
On my KJ it worked fine as long as I used the wiring harness to plug the seat belt switches and occupancy mats in.
I still haven't bothered to sort out the power or heating to the seats!
Is it a solid state replacement for the relay?
What does it do that a new fuel pump relay wouldn't do?
Just curious what the benefit is, my Jeep doesn't even have lift pump lol.
Anyone got any experience of fitting a line booster to a 545? I've just started to feel some slippage in the 3-4 shift, I'm guessing I've got a work valve body so hopefully a booster will sort it for a bit until I can get around to pulling it to bits.
If it's not the issue it's been wrecked by the issue and will need to be replaced.
I'd pull it out and get a meter on the wires to see if anything is shorting out.
I've seen a post somewhere where a tywrap gets fitted to the clutch disabling it so the tension stays as set.
I'll have to have a proper look at mine, the inspection last year was touch & go on it!
