Looking the upgrade my suspension on 2005 jeep liberty

No ujoint problem for me there... but my boomerang bushing were over-angled and tore. Using the Durango/Dakota shocks tho (forget which exactly.)

    Water Pump Failure

The mechanical fan itself probably contributes to the pump wear/death. That is the case for the Ford 7.3L powerstroke also (there's a cast iron pump from a Navistar application that lasts much better). My original KJ pump died abruptly. Gushing coolant and failed bearings. It's replacement...

Top things to do to improve MPG & engine life?

Been putting a lot less miles on since covid. Otherwise, it's regimented oil changes, and clean/replace that air filter.

    265 70 R16 Falken Wildpeaks AT/4W on KJ with 2.5-inch lift

We have 3" lift and 245/75R16 rub at full lock. 1.25" spacers. Not that it's been a problem... just that it does.

Can I run these on stock ride height

We have 245/75R16 with 3" lift, wheel spacers , and pinch weld flattened. They still rub at the limits of the steering range.

Trak Lok LSD at wrecker in Lower Mainland

I always leave it out. Want all the grip it has left.

Trak Lok LSD at wrecker in Lower Mainland

I'm used to yards that won't let you pull a diff apart. A posi on the shelf often fetches as much as whole rear end. Watch the ring gear bolt-hole detail (3/8" vs 10mm), or get the r&p also.

Trak Lok LSD at wrecker in Lower Mainland

Careful what you pay for it. If ours came with an open diff, I'd have installed a Lockright.

    Shot intermediate shaft?

Definitely change those! That's the main cause of the intermediate shaft spline failing. I found plastic ones in mine, and put in the proper roller needle bearing replacements (Spicer).

    4.10 Re-gearing - 2025

How much additional correction is needed? I mean, the VSS reads the axle speed (corrected by the r&p ratio already) and the shift points are already set for the vehicle speed (which is now more correct with bigger tires). Its not like many other vehicles where driveshaft speed is read and the...

    4.10 Re-gearing - 2025

My speedo was more correct after bigger tires. YMMV.

    4.10 Re-gearing - 2025

Fwiw, we don't all need 4.10. That's a side effect of the auto having a very tall OD ratio. I regeared from 3.54 to 3.73. (6spd). Swapped complete diffs from an automatic. It was the perfect correction for the tire size change.

    Lift done

Not that I can tell. The original gas ones were sagged out pretty hard by the time I changed them

    Lift done

I'm running the Teraflex spacer lift with aftermarket control arms. 150,000km since install. Can't complain. I did eventually put in the diesel coils and Rancho struts.

Front differential spider gears not working

There may be some variation in angle-ability between OEM and various jobber. Ours is lifted 3", with 3/4" cradle drop. The only time the CVs get 'lumpy' is on the floor jack, and the suspension goes to full droop. These are jobber CVs now - not OEM.

    Antilock Braking System (ABS) issue

Possibly a bad wheel/bearing sensor? ABS was optional on the Liberty. Maybe take the option to ignore/defeat it? Been very content with our non-ABS KJ - just sayin.

Controversia Lubrication fluids for Giddyup …. Need advice … PLEASE and Thank you !!!

Because I want all the grip from a trac-lok that I possibly can get. When it's used up, time to upgrade. Checked my gear oil. It's super-generic 80W90 with a small footnote it meets GL4 and 5 spec.
