my 2008 KK has been pretty much trouble free for the past 2 years. I have done a lot to it, however been good. All started 2 weeks ago, I gently washed the engine, gentle spray to clean it off. EGR light comes on, then code low voltage to egr positioning sensor, and high voltage to O2 circuit 2. Runs (RAN!) fine. Today I was heading home and all the warning lights came on in dash and it shut off. I coasted into a parking lot. Try to restart and all I heard was the shift solenoid light click . ZDisconnected teh battery and out back on after 15 minutes, same. when you turn key on, all lights except the throttle body light comes on. NO connection possible to the OBII for diagnostics. Any advise?

Wow that’s a huge bummer! If the OBDII is down, I would be checking the connectors to the PCM on the passengers side fender, and underneath the TIPM (fuse box) on the drivers side. If any of those big connectors got water in them, perhaps that is the issue. I would unplug the large connectors and blow them out, and check for corrosion.

It truly stinks for sure! I just jumped the starter relay, and it cranked over, no start of course. Tomorrow I will start unplugging and plugging. I didn't go near the TPIM! That thing is evil, pure evil!

what do you all think this is worth? I am going to cut my losses. I have pout close to $6,500.00 into it, it was a dream Liberty for 5 months until it died driving home. Now with the no crank situation I have done all I can. Cleaned grounds, checked all wiring even going as far as antilock system. Still not throttle body dash light when key is on and no crank. I am going to try and sell as it sits, or will part out. I have MANY new parts sitting. new front struts, links, front rotors, that I will sell separately, and many many used parts from the 2010 I swapped the interior out with. NEW Goodyear 235/70R16 Workhorse Wranglers, cruise, etc. I was travelling anywhere with it, until 5 miles from home dash lit up and it died. I am sure I may have missed something, but have already bought another vehicle, and not a Jeep! lol! Will need to be towed. I did manage to get codes pulled and they state LOSS OF GATEWAY communications.

That’s a nice looking Jeep. What part of the country are you located in?
