I just did my drivers side. Get a ball joint press, and i actually found the best thing to use to press out was an exhaust valve off an old ram. Its the exact same size and the metal sleeve. Stuck it through the hole and put the press on that and it came out in minutes. I have some of them ill send ya one for postage. Theyre just sitting in my garage

That's a great idea - I'm only 20 minutes away from you. Where were you when I did my JBA coilovers...??? :happy175:

I had replaced one of the originals a couple of years ago and it took forever. Used a ball joint press like you but didn't have a proper size socket or 'something' to fit in place to squarely press out the bushing.

To get the job done during the coilover install, I just drilled out the rubber around the sleeve, pushed out the sleeve, then beat the crap out of the bushing with a BFH and chisel till it came out.

Again, great idea with the valves :waytogo:

Thanks bob! It came about from necesitty really. Sawzall battery was dead from other projects, ball joint press by itself and with the adapters it had, could only press the middle and rubber out the other end, but the valve fit the outer sleeve as well as being concave (vex?) the press couldnt slide off!

the shot bushing on the drivers side is what ( i think) is causing the lift height difference from the passenger also. I cant beleive it hasnt made any noise either, the bolt is basically bottomed out in the bushing.

When mine go (prob soon) I'm just replacing the entire LCA. MUCH less brain damage and new frame bushings and ball joints to boot. They really aren't all that expensive. I've done other bushing replacements with similar construction. A complete ***** to do.

i have brand new ball joints just installed and the other LCA bushings are in great shape plus i have the clevis fork bushings already and spent all my other jeep budget on other fun stuff

Ball joints are in the knuckle...so no ball joints will be coming on the new lower arms. Sorry!! :emotions34:

How are aftermarket LCAs quality wise compared to OEM ones?
