SkyJacker Lift

Hey all I just put a SkyJacker lift on my 04 Liberty. Kit number was Lib250K-N, it was the middle priced of the three kits that came with suspension components. Overall I am very satisfied with the ease of installation and the instructions that came with it. SkyJacker included 8 page instructions with pictures. The only thing that made this install take a while was coming up with a way to assemble the strut/coil. You have to use your upper strut mount a washers from the original strut. So I made a compressor out of some threaded dowels, bolts, sheet metal and oak. If I can figure out how, I'll upload a photo of it, worked great. The instructions for the rear install was a bit lacking though. It is a simple process but it left out a lot and you need to keep the lower coil insulators for both sides. Once I take it off road I'll let everyone know how it handles. My old stuts and shocks had gone bad so it rides a lot better now. Bought it from Morris 4x4, cheapest place I could find to get them. Hope this is informative for anyone looking for a lift.

I would love to see some pictures of your jeep. I have 2003 renegade I was think about lifting it during the summer. The skyjacker lifts are priced fair. I was thinking about skyjacker or OME

Not to rain on your parade BUT if you would of read up some you would see what no one uses the Skyjacker lift
For one the spring rate is the same as stock and will sag just like the stock springs do
Second you can only use Skyjacker front shocks so are stuck using their brand.
It was cheap for a reason
Again sorry to rain on your parade but its not a good lift long term
Skyjacker=310 lb spring rate OME 927s are 400 lb , lots of difference

GO OME OR IRONMAN
If you read on here or LOSTJEEPs you'll see what everyone uses and why

I had looked at OME but didn't anything for the Liberty. It isn't one of the options to choose when selecting a vehicle. I've heard good things about skyjacker. Short of spending thousands of dollars on a lift this was a good choice. If the rear springs sag too much I'll replace them with different ones.

OME does make springs and shocks for the KJ, have installed a bunch of them
Front springs are the weakest ones on the Skyjacker ( 310 lb)
Skyjacker is good choice on some other vehicles BUT not KJs , sorry but just the way it is.
They did make a few sets in the very beginning back in 02-03 that had a great spring rate, but for some reason went to the weaker 310 lb ones in front
OME for KJs is 800 bucks not thousands
Can even do a OME a little cheaper using Bilstien shocks instead of the OME shocks.
Wish you would of asked before going the way you did could of helped you out .
Personally have installed over 30 OME lifts plus Ironman, JBA etc plus been on the forums doing lifts for over 11 years now on KJs so not downing you, just pointing others in the correct way that will last long term

So for future KJers who are lifting , NO to Rustys, Skyjacker, RRO and any spacer lift . OME, Ironman or JBA coilovers

Money is hard to come by for most of us thats why we try and guide folks in the right direction when choosing a lift

Skyjacker is not a bad lift kit though I must say that OME is a lot better even if it is a bit pricey.

That measurement doesn't show the rest of us anything at all.
Measure from the middle of the wheel in front to the bottom of the flare.
Your way takes in the height of the tire etc, the correct way takes out tire size. You could have a 4 inch lift with 29 inch tall tires and a buddy with 4 inch lift and 32s would measure the same the way we do it.
If you are at say 21 inches you have 2 inches of lift, 22, then would be 3 inches etc

Your rocker panel is pretty trashed for being a misses-hippi vehicle. Did it move down from up north, or spend some time under water?

From center of wheel to bottom of flare:
Back: 22 1/8 inches
Front: 21 1/4 inches
I am from NY originally, I bought it when it had 95,000 miles and soon found out that the previous owner didn't care for it much. Parts went bad quick and there was hidden rust everywhere.

So 2.25 inches in the front and over 3 in the rear
Are you going to try and level it out some or like the raked look?

I'm just gonna leave it the way it is. I need to invest money on other parts. I need pretty much all new muffler system. One of my cat converters is bad and the rest of the muffler is rusting out. I also need to regear it. Any suggestions on muffler/cat converter? I would like a bit more throaty sound. Is regearing a DIY job?

I know how to do gears and used to do them all of the time
BUT anymore I let someone who does them almost daily, has the tools etc to sit them up properly etc. Then if something is wrong its their nickle.
Magnaflow sounds good

Took it out mudding and then pulled over in a small puddle for a pic. Didn't want to stop anywhere but the road cause I wasn't about to get stuck
