When I got Libby with 174k, her cloth seats were in good condition but dirty. The leather steering wheel was coming apart, the carpet in the driver's well was badly worn, and the plastic panels in the cargo area were badly scratched. So off to my pull and save. Found a perfect leather steering wheel for $12.50, good condition rear wheel well panels for $14 each, cargo carpet for $9, and driver side front carpet quarter for $10. These used parts were in very good condition and make Libby look like a 75k mile vehicle. $60 well spent. Wife is well pleased with how well she looks but fears I am making her too nice to take off road! Good woman!

PS: Jeep cheapened the carpets in 2003. The 2002 models had plastic inserts molded into the carpet at wear points but these are gone in 2003. I cut the driver side 2002 carpet just behind the drive seat bolt cutouts. When I cut out the 2003 worn carpet out, I cut half way between the bolt holes and overlapped the carpet about 3". Did not have to remove console or side trim panels to install 2002 carpet - just pulled out old carpet and slid 2002 carpet under plastic panels. Looks really good. I am posting this to encourage upgrades to your interiors. Make you KJ as good as they can look inside for not much money and time.

Good for you. My 2005 Limited is just shy of 150,000 miles and leather seats and inside looks pristine. All that is wrong is few dings and scratches on the body just badges of courage.

I had a small tear in my drivers side seat, got new leather put in (the original Jeep leather too) and a new bolster done for $90. Other than that mine's faring well. I have Huskyliners on top of the OE carpet mats so my carpet is fine.

Reasons...

My Libby was neglected and abused when I got her so the need to refurbish. But she is just how I would have ordered her. Black with slate grey interior, Limited Edition with cloth interior and no sun roof. I looked at many KJ's before making a selection and chose Libby even though she needed attention. But now people say she looks like a new vehicle but she does show her age in subtle ways.

I'm not sure where the guy got it from to be honest...but it's the exact Jeep stuff.

If it's the cloth seats, you can pull the upholstery off and wash them on GENTLE cycle and either hang to dry or gentle low heat dryer cycle. I have done this for the last two cloth seat cars I have had and it works great.
