Howdy ladies and gents,
I ran through my transfer case modes yesterday to make sure nothing was begin to stick or anything and when I went back to 2hi my part time light stated on. I then went back to 4hi and the light went off, then when I disengaged back to 2hi the part time light came back on. Any suggestions or tips? Thanks in advance and have a great day!

Try a search my friend. Transfer case position switch is busted.

Pretty common problem...a bunch of really excellent threads here on how to replace the switch. BUT...instead of replacing mine (the switch is a bit of a nudge to remove but doable) I whacked it with a hammer onto a large screwdriver placed on the switch body which unstuck it. Seems the "calibrated hammer adjustment" technique worked for me...still good after two years. Otherwise a new switch is in order. BTW, if you try the hammer thwack you don't even need to fully remove the console...just enough to access the switch on the side of the transfer case.

I removed mine, cleaned it with brake cleaner, followed by PB blaster, then brake cleaner again and worked it in good between cleaners. Switch has been working properly for 6 months.
