New from WV

Hey all I joined up to learn something about Liberty's. Long story short, my brother was in visiting when he blew a head gasket on his 03 liberty, He bought it new and it has 144,000 miles. I sent him home in my 01 cherokee and now it looks like I'm stuck with the Liberty. I quess I'm deciding if I should just gut and build it or try to fix and sell. I've built a few jeeps and done a few SAS on blazers.. Just gonna read awhile. Here's a few pics of my swaps and jeeps

About the 03 KJ= if the rest of the Jeep is in good shape and most everything else is in working order, why not fix the engine a re-sell or use it as a second vehicle. On the other hand, if it's pretty well used, I'd build it as a dedicated wheeler. Just my $.02

Thanks guy's, I just don't know much about KJ's yet. I can put a xj together in my sleep and I've been wheeling them for years. I've had some bad experiences with the 4.7 and I hear the 3.7 is basically the same engine with 2 cylinders cut off. But that's why I'm here to learn from the guy's who know....... Now that I've registered and I've got the search function I've already learned alot.

Jon....we have to stop meeting like this. LOL.

im about to put a 2.5" lift on the wifes KJ this summer. after i get new front struts for it of course.

You know me J-rod, if I wanna learn about something I find a good forum and use the search function... Lots of good info on here, seems I need to buy a reman head and a gasket set. Wish Chrysler would have put a 4.0 in this thing..LOL but then that would be to easy since I have a garage full of those..

I finally got the liberty home and it wasn't the head gasket, I think the garage in Morgantown was trying to put it to my brother. When the radiator blew antifreeze got down in below the coil pack O rings on 2 cylinders. I cleaned the plugs and coil packs on 4 and 5 cylinders and I've got 600 miles on it with no problems. Na not gonna lift the liberty, it's gonna go on down the road. I'm gonna put all my energy in the teal xj this winter, if it doesn't get alot of attention soon it's gonna break in half. LOL
