Just as the title says...

The service manual doesn't go into great detail. I pulled the bolt holding it to the hub, but it doesn't want to come out. Any ideas? I don't want to try too hard and break it.

I just want to make sure it should pop right off with the bolt removed, as indicated in (6) and (7) below. I've pried on it and it doesn't want to come off the hub.

SENSOR-WHEEL SPEED-FRONT
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the front wheel speed sensor wire connector that is located on the inboard side of the respective wheel house.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
4. Remove the caliper adapter. (Refer to 5 - BRAKES/HYDRAULIC/MECHANICAL/DISC BRAKE CALIPER ADAPTER - REMOVAL).
CAUTION: Never allow the disc brake caliper to hang from the brake hose. Damage to the brake hose with result. Provide a suitable support to hang the caliper securely.
5. Remove the disc brake rotor (3). (Refer to 5 - BRAKES/HYDRAULIC/MECHANICAL/ROTORS - REMOVAL).
6. Remove the wheel speed sensor mounting bolt to the hub.
7. Remove the wheel speed sensor wire from the hub/bearing.
8. Remove the wheel speed sensor wire hold down (4) from the knuckle.
9. Remove the wheel speed sensor wire (1) thru the wheel well.
10. Remove the wheel speed sensor (2) from the vehicle.

I just recently changed the front hubs on my 02 but it does not have the sensor you are mentioning. I found this video to be informative before I did mine. In the video the hubs have an abs sensor.

Just snapped the left side. Nice.

Anyway, just a head's up - the dealer is CHEAPER than aftermarket!

For whatever reason, no dealer has the left hand in stock, they all have the right hand. They show the warehouse having a left hand, so I can get it tomorrow.

Aftermarket was $40+ each. OEM was $31.50. Call around though, one dealer was over $40. Effin' 33% markup!

I'll be putting some kind of anti-sieze on these in case I need to remove them in the future.

Good video to describe it. The difference is the GM wheel hubs have the ABS sensor built in - i.e., if either the hub or the sensor goes, you're replacing the whole unit.

Chrysler has a removeable sensor....the only problem is it seems to weld itself in there. Mine have a whopping 22k miles and 1 winter under them and won't come out.

Oh, and my KJ isn't very rusty at all to those who think it's due to MI winters. I have the whole driver's side disassembled with hand tools only and no rust penetrator used, and it went like cake.
