I agree that its hard to tell a difference with just a muffler change. My driving conditions vary so much its hard to get a good average since I drive on a different road everyday.

I figured with the K&N and the muffler I gain no more than 1-2 mpg.

The 3.7l sounds great at lower rpms with the 50series but in the higher rpms it does get a little raspy. If only it had a hemi. :)

Just I'll leave you believing you have no back pressure... You said you want to become a auto engineer... Be sure to tell everyone in your classes the same thing.

You may not have an EXCESSIVE backpressure on one bank of your motor like before, however you still have backpressure... simple

scientifically even a flat tire has the atmospheric 14.696 PSI in it at sea level.

=) unless negative pressure is read on the gauge. so yeah, dudes motor wouldn't work if it didnt have back pressure right?

Ordered the 44SOR diamond plated one today and can't wait to get it put on. Ordered mainly for sound, but also will be removing all pipe after the muffler so it should kill some restriction also. :)

I regularly drive a 250 mile one way trip to my parents and will update with MPG after the install. On my trips so far i have gotten 18 mpg.

I'm gonna back the guy up here, when I got the new muffler on my KJ, it was more responsive, a bit better MPG, and were not the only ones that think this, search around and a lot of people remark these comments...

Had my 44SOR installed last week. So far i notice about 1-2 mpg difference and love the sound. Power difference is not noticeable. But i love the sound. Nice deep tone with great rumble at idle. Going to do some highway MPG testing in a week or two.

On mine we replaced the muffler and also cut out all the neck downs that lead to and from the stock muffler. So now it is true 2.5" from cat to tail pipe. The muffler back pipe will be removed for a turn down once i move out of the city.
