Hi everybody,

Does anyone knows, please, what is the technical difference between KJ model 2006 and 2007 ?
I was told that 3.7 engine works a little bit different in 2007 model in comparosin to 2006. Libby 06 sounds much better that the newer one, it has a better acceleration.
But I don't know any other details.

Do You have experience of this ? I just wonder to buy a one but don't know which

thanks in advance

Well either way you're stuck with crappy window regulators. This started with '06. '02-'05 have MUCH better regulators. I might not feel so strongly about this if I wasn't a victim of a regulator break...

The 3.7L engine is the same as 2006, differences are the cooling system and the electronic throttle control. 2006 Libbys have a manual throttle with an actual cable and throttle body. The 2007's is electronic, there is no physical connection between the pedal and throttle body. Just computers. There is also a small split second delay.

Other than that, there are no other big differences.

I think the 07's don't have a dipstick for the ******. Anyone on here able to confirm that?

My 2007 has a dipstick tube, however, it's capped and says "for dealer use only". As soon as I pass 36,000 miles, that cap will come off and a 2006 dipstick will go in there ;)

Other differences -

Throttle Body - as Marlon mentioned, the throttle body is different. There is no longer a cable in 2007, it's "drive by wire". I haven't had any issues with it - I noticed a little lag at first, but either I got used to it quickly or the PCM "learned" the vehicle better and it eliminated the lag. Also, the throttle body is plastic.

Stereo - Although they look the same as the 2006 unit, I had bad luck trying to get an aftermarket IPOD adapter. The unit works fine in other similar Chrysler radios, but wouldn't work in my '07. I contacted the manufacturer, who stated that something is different in the 2007 radios, and they will not support a 2007 - it's 2006 and below.

With my past history on Chrysler transmissions, I'll wait until the warranty is over :p

Not really Chrysler's fault - I had a '91 Daytona that had a trans replaced at 100,000 by the P.O. I bought it at 105,000. Blew the trans out at 125,000 miles, and then it was going again at 140,000 miles when I sold it. A604's don't like doing burnouts behind a 3.0L ;)

A-Sick-O-Fours don't like running period. Burnouts or granny driving, the thing was a piece of absolute trash. Sad to say that the KJ has a modernized, much more tough version of the A604. Bah. Seems to work well these days...
