I'm going to be replacing all the bushings on my lower control arms this week. I ordered the parts on line, & got them today. The company was apparently low on stock of the 4 inner bushings. I ordered 4 Spicer branded bushings & ended up with 2 Moogs & 2 AC Delcos.

Not too worried, I'm sure neither company makes junk, but I do wonder how I should install them. Should I put the Moogs on one arm & the ACs on the other? Or put the Moogs in the front of both arms & the ACs in the rear?
Or is there no difference to worry about, & I should just quit worring about it?

Put the moogs on one side and the AC's on the other so you can see which are better.

Im going to tell you that you will have one heck of a time getting those old bushings out. Hopefully you know what youre getting into and if you do PLEASE take pics on how you do it.

I tried to get bushings out of a set of leaf springs once and thought I was going to shoot someone.

Do you really want a photo of me taking my control arms down to the local shop to have them pressed out?;)

I did that kind of stuff for about 15 years, then I discovered the guy at the corner shop only charges $20 to do it the right way!

Never looked back from there\\:D/

It's all about the proper application of force. It's way easier to press bushings that melt em and such.

we've got a 20 ton hydraulic press at work with all kinds of adapters for the various bushings, bearings and other stuff we use. Convenient that those adapters fit auto parts.

kjpilot....I would put the Moogs up front and the AC's in the rear. But I'm sure you are right and it should not matter.

I'd ship them back and ask for what you ordered and not substituted part numbers. Who knows if both those brands of bushings the same Durometer rating!

I thought about that, but I really don't have the 2-3 weeks to wait for the parts. The reason I ordered the Spicer branded bushings is they were half the price of the Moogs & the Delcos. So I paid for the cheap ones & got the expensive ones. Even if the Moogs are different than the Delcos, they are probably better than the Spicers.

I think I'll have the Moogs up front & the Delcos in the rear.
