Power has never been a concern for me on my Jeep. It has plenty for my needs and even wants. I would happily give up some of it for better fuel economy. Of course I am in my 40s now and probably feel different about that than I would have 20 years ago.....
Moved the console lid up and forward to make it more usable. I used a piece of wood to do it and it still looks kinda crude. If I like how it works I will go back and clean it up and paint it so it blends in better.
I am thinking now that it was a false alarm. The noise I thought was coming from the rear I now think was just road noise. It goes away when I drive on certain surfaces. I still plan to have the differential serviced soon though.
I have only owned it about 6 months and I have not serviced the differential. I am not sure of its service history. I do not think it has any type of limit slip or locker in the back. If I drop one tire off in the grass I usually have to put it in 4wd to avoid spinning up the yard.
I am hearing a whine from the rear of the Jeep when I am going down the road. Every once in a while I will feel a jerk from the back when stopping or taking off. Likely the rear differential going out or something less costly like a U joint?
From experience a brush guard can prevent a lot of damage in deer collisions. I doubt they do anything to lessen the damage to whatever you hit though.
Just my opinion but running boards or nerf bars make no sense on a Liberty. It's step in height is so low that even kids would not need a step up to get in. If you go off road then they are just another item to worry about ripping off.
