I like the "Carbon Metallic" brand for pads Used them on a '02 Libby, and before that on a '88 S10 Blazer, and a Chev 1ton. They wear like iron, and also cause very little wear on the rotors. Excellent high temp performance too. I'll never use another brand again.

Emoto - Pretty easy really. After you remove the caliper assembly (have some wire handy, don't let it hang by the brake line) the rotor will pull off the hub pretty easy. Although, you might have to give it a few convincing whacks to break loose any rust that has accumulate between the rotor...
