I agree, I already like the manual ****** more than the auto. Unlike the auto, I can use the power of the engine better and force it to the limits with the stick.
BTW, some people recommended installing a 3rd party TURBO on the 4 ******:) What do you think? Is it worth trying?
Yes, definitely that's the case. Paying huge taxes just for having a big engine vehicle and getting nothing back in return is extremely annoying. No need to mention the tax on the gas prices (%200) in addition. I'd love to test drive a 2.4, if I can find one around. 2.4 sport is a rare species...
Most CRD's here have more than 150-200.000 km on them. I'm not sure about taking the risk of a worn out diesel engine. Diesel failure costs incredibly high to repair around here.
Noone says anything positive about the 2.4. So it seems we're seperating our ways with Jeep:( Cause I can't...
Thank you for the reply. I'm sorry to learn that I'll be frustrated with the 2.4. I also read other reviews on the internet and people have many complaints about engine issues. Bad mileage and uncomfortable ride is frequently mentioned about this vehicle too.
I couldn't understand this, is...
I'm planning to sell my '04 Rennie because of the government's unacceptable tax policy for large engines. To avoid the high tax rates, I'm thinking of getting a KJ with a smaller engine. And that's the 2.4 Sport.
What do you think about the 2.4 Sport? Especially the owners' opinions based on...
One of the worst consequences of having the 42RLE is the power loss during highway passings. It really is dangerous so I often have to abort a passing on 2 direction roads if the other direction is not completely clear. And that is really annoying.
Two 2nd gears.. I'd get a 02 instead of mine...
I don't know of a dealer who does that test around here. I don' think that they've even heard about it, but even so I'll just ask. I got the spark plugs changed, because I own this vehicle for barely a year now, and when I got them checked, the plugs were black and totally worn out. The dealer...
Thank you for the informative replies. They've been very helpful. Now back to the checklist:
TJ, in the last two months, spark plugs, all fluids and air filter were changed. The old air filter was not in very bad condition though, not much dust or sand around here actually.
If I'm not...
J-thompson, TJKJ; when I hit the gas at about 55 mph (90 kmh) I don't get such an instant response everytime. I said "everytime", because sometimes I floor it and absolutely nothing happens, I don't know why. I've tried many other ways to get the most out of it and oddly enough, I only get the...
I'm not blaming the engine. I say that despite the strong engine, the overall performance is poor. No matter if I switch the OD off, hit the gas or keep it in the 2nd gear, the acceleration is interrupted by auto shifting again.
B&G don't seem to respond, and even if they do, international...
I was hearing the same sound in the very same speed interval with the Cooper STT's. I tried getting them fine tuned and different air pressure levels to no luck. When I switched to normal tires, the sound was gone.
Even though you don't have agressive thread pattern, I believe it's all about...
This was what I have been trying to find out for some time. I was thinking this was some kind of power loss caused by larger tires, old spark plugs, air filter, intake system or anything else. I was sorry to learn that nothing was actually wrong, it was only the 42RLE:(
Pathetic performance...
0-100 kmh in 9 seconds is not bad, especially for a 2 ton brick.
Maybe there's a hidden potential, but the main problem here is, KJ shifts too soon. When you begin climbing up the torque curve, it shifts up and everything is gone..
As far as I have read, it's a known issue for many people...
It's all done. Spark plugs changed, intake system cleaned. All fluids and air filter were already changed. Engine inspected with the digital hand unit (sorry I don't know what it is called) and there is no error.
It feels only a little bit better now, but I'm still not sure if this is the...
