Ok, that does make sense, I appreciate the input. Why didn't the original shocks fail if the springs were bad? What is the recommended mileage that springs be replaced?

Cost of Bilstein struts + installation + Cost of Monroe Quick struts + installation. Not lifted. Stock springs on stock suspension with almost 140K miles.

I am not lifted and bought the proper struts. They were old springs, but the mechanic assured me they were fine before he installed the struts. Could that really make them fail after just 2000 miles? The OEM struts never failed after almost 140K miles, they were just tired.

Thanks!! Keep in mind the $1171 included angel eyes and labor. The actual parts came to much less ($505). So if you're willing to attempt the install yourself, it's really not that bad. All parts were from theretrofitsource.com

I just ordered new rotors and pads for the front. Power Slot slotted rotors and Hawk brake pads. I unfortunatley have the drums in back, boo. These should help. I'll install them soon and see how they are.

Yeah I saw that too. I was very puzzled by it, the Grabbers should be great in the snow! That makes no sense....

Yeah, new brakes are definitely a priority now. Those DEJs look amazing! They would look especially good with general grabbers!
