My 05 Liberty with 3.7L has a speedometer needle that bounces while accelerating, when the vehicle has not reached operating temperature. Very obvious when entering the interstate. It'll go back and forth while I accelerate and then go from like 60 to 70 to 65 etc back and forth. If I let off...
05 Liberty 3.7L with the 42rle trans. Started making a clunking noise like the brake calipers were sticking. Jeep also didn't want to roll forward or reverse, it would "bind" at a certain point while moving and that coincided with speed. Jacked the front up, spun the wheels, passenger side would...
Thought that may be the case. Thanks for the reply! May leave this up to my shop. I've not done engine internals before unless you want to count spark plugs.
If I wanted to replace some or all of the hydraulic lifters in my 3.7 do I need to find TDC and hand crank as I go or can I just use the valve spring compression tool to gain access and replace one by one?

Instead of replacing lifters and having it turn out to be the valve seat, we are running some Rislone and possibly...
Not sure what it is. Thought maybe lifter or tappet(?) or exhaust leak or the transmission and/or engine? Goes away intermittently. Gets faster when accelerating whether on the road or parked in Neutral. Link to video below. Clicking stops at 0:04 seconds and starts again at 0:10 seconds. Then...
lol I took the bus for years in Chicago. Now I'd rather drive my Jeep!
Terminals fully clean and greased to prevent corrosion.
Took them off and zip tied them together a day ago when I started to change the O2 sensor out. Sensor wouldn't budge so I put them back on until I had more time...
Looked at the back of the OBDII and all wires seemed to be in good shape. Will have to remove the panels and dig deeper to see if anything behind the dash is damaged.
'05 KJ 3.7L V6 with 89k miles on it.
CEL came on after two weeks of not driving and odometer said P0157.
Ok, bank 2,2 O2 sensor. Not a huge issue but I wanted more detail so I bought a Scan Tool. I also wanted the tool to clear the code after putting in the new sensor before starting the...
