This actually came out really good with just the springs. The Jeep is nicely lifted and leveled. You see pics in insta fin_jeep_kj
The springs that my Libby had were progressive and out of their service life.
Ok so this is confusing. I got a call from mechanic working to install the HR kit. He said the rear springs are +40mm/1.5 inch but front ones are same length as stock. I thought this would be all around 40mm lift.
Does HR even sell such mad max style spring sets that only lift rear? I'm...
Check engine coolant temp sensor. My Libby didn't like hot starts. Cold engine starts were fine. Engine coolant temp sensor was busted and Jeep got rich mixture all the time
It might prove useful to someone to update on this. Issue solved. First replaced the sensor. What was left was error code and check engine light when revving the engine close to red line.
The cable bunch that the coolant temp sensor in part of is mounted on top of the engine in a bracket. This...
And good point on checking the parts for wear. I would want to do as much proactive maintenance at this point since this Jeep usually is in random use at a remote location
On so most likely this has answered thousand times already but still going to post this.
My 02 2.4 KJ has original springs and shocks and they offer quite soft ride. I olan to refresh them and already purchased HR springs tuhat claim to offer 40mm / 1.5 In lift.
Now, i do need shocks and...
So my Jeep is a Cherokee as the Liberty was labeled in Europe. This particular unit ended up in Finland late 2002 and it's first owner decided to install a Webasto petrol heater and plug-in engine heating element + cabin heater, which is a rare combo, it's usually only petrol heater or plug-ins...
Thanks for all the comments and tips.
I have and OBD reader that I can use to check the codes. I have also checked the codes through the 3x key turn process and they match. Like said, the fault codes and related issues were connected to the codes and mostly fixed with changing engine coolant...
Took off the roof rack. Every time I put in on my KJ it pops up some random warning light. Bad Karma with that one. I need to buy a new one, maybe my Jeep wants to take part in selecting it. What I learned is that don't buy a rack/basket that is narrower than your roof.
Strangely search did not bear fruit with this one. As I have understood this is quite common problem and the sensor issue does have some major effect.
I have a 2002 2.4 KJ and it randomly loses the coolant temperature sensor. When it does, I can see the temp go all over the place and finally...
Moi is finnish and mean Hi! Greetings from Nordics. A new KJ owner here.
My name is Kalle and I live in Finland. We needed a 4x4 that can handle itself above the arctic circle in rough terrain all year round and somehow I ended up with a 2002 Jeep Liberty Sport 2.4. Back here it is branded...
